Wedding Planning- OUT OF STATE!
I am planning from out of state! FH and I currently live in Maryland right now. Basically I have been packaging vendor appointments into trips up to the area. We haven't booked anything other than our venue yet (did that over Christmas) and we are going to LI this weekend to meet with photographers, DJ's and florists. Alot of appointments in just 3 short days!

Wedding Planning- OUT OF STATE!
Even though I'm in Long Island I've been relying heavily on website ratings of vendors. My fiance works a lot and we share a car so I can't check out too many showcases or vendors, so I limit it to one or two I'm interested in and we check them out. LIW has been a BIG help, also Wedding Wire and Best of Long Island. I've picked several vendors off of this site, and also checked their reviews on Wedding Wire. There are several vendors that so many of us on LIW are using because they are so great. For all of you looking for a hair stylist - check out Fire Monkey Hair Design. Dusti does great work and many of us are using her as a stylist. If any of you are looking for an officiant - Pastor April is also one of the best, most popular vendors on this site/the island. You could probably communicate over phone and email with her to write the ceremony - she's so accommodating to couples. If you call her and ask her, she could probably do a phone appt., she is so nice and writes beautiful wedding ceremonies. We watched the videos of her officiating and knew right away we wanted to have her marry us! In terms of DJ's, many of them around here are very expensive. In my research I've found the two companies that have great reviews and great prices are After Hours and Absolute Entertainment. Good luck planning, ladies!

Wedding Planning- OUT OF STATE!
I planned 3/4 of my wedding from NJ. I just made all of my appointments with vendors for the same day if possible and did a lot of research online before deciding who to meet with. It's tough but def doable. Let me know if you have any q's.

Wedding Planning- OUT OF STATE!
I would definitely try to make all the vendors appointments on the same day. I would really do as much research as I could on them before to decide if I was sure I was interested in their service before meeting.I'd really suggest hiring a low cost planner/DOC for anyone OOS. Although I'm local, mine has really been a extremely helpful already.

Wedding Planning- OUT OF STATE!
We have planned our wedding om New Jersey. I am also a cheeky glam bride and love them! FH job is completely opposite from mine so trying to get to Long Island together was neare impossible. We used websites and reviews and how we felt when we talked on the phone.Welcome New Vendors
