Wedding Presents - Part Deux

Wedding Presents - Part Deux

Rob and I think that we will want to request that our guests do NOT give gifts or cash to us on our wedding day. We do not want anyone to stress about trying to figure out how much per plate we paid or if they gave enough or if they gave too much.

And we don't want our wedding to be about getting stuff.

Is it rude to put 'no gifts' or to suggest a charity to donate to in lieu of a gift on our invitations?

no its not rude at all, some people will still give u anyway, but ive been to weddings where brides have stated 'no gifts please' i doubt anyone would be offended

I don't think it's rude at all....if they want to give you something, they will...maybe not $$ directly, but maybe more of a sentimental gift.
I would put something like 'your presence is present enough.... no gifts please'

why don't you just pick a charity, and all the $$ gifts you get, you write a check out to charity....

i actually begged about 10 guests in particular to NOT give a gift of any kind. they didn't listen...but no one felt obligated either and that was a nice feeling. no one took offense to it.
