I'm in the beginning stages of reception hall 'shopping' and I'm looking for ways to cut from the per person cost. I've always wanted a Saturday night, summer wedding but i'm beginning to realize that its not going to happen due to cost. I'm still determined to make it a summer wedding but have decided to go with a Friday night. Can anyone please give me recommendations of how to get the halls to cut the per person rates? What are some things that I can cut back on or remove that will lower the cost????

If you aren't tied to getting married in the summer, if you choose a wedding Dec- March you can save big bucks. Some halls are between 30-60 dollars cheaper per person in the off season months.

Definitely look into a Saturday afternoon! In our case, it wasn't significantly cheaper (we are having under 100 people so it's hard for them to book the small rooms), but it's worth asking about!
