wedding prices

none of my business, but just curious how much ppl are spending on the weddings????

i mean, its just me and a little help from my fh and im really trying to stay low......and even thats hard??

if you get help then its easier to go all out, but when its just the two of and you then its def tough.

i really hope i can keep it under 20k. thats why we're doing it more towards winter and stuff.......and not splurging...keeping everything to a minimum.....no extra un needed things.

the only thing i really care about is the dj, photos, and hall.

everything else if i can save on and just do basic....i will

I started out with wanting to keep it at $30 but that went out the window with the Hall alone. Then I figured, we both make good money and I am only getting married once so why not.

$30 LOL thats kind of cheap...haha..but I know what you meant Right now Im under my $10,000 limit and I have all the major things booked and all the little supplies for the wedding too...if you want to keep ur wedding low you must look for sales and discounts!

It depends on what you think is necessary and how many people. You have the power to make your wedding affordable or ridiculously expensive.

I don't even want to tell you how much $ we're spending because its ridiculous. I think if you get a wedding planner (they're not as expensive as you think), they could help you with your budget.

no...you're not crazy. but you have to kind of cut corners and be realistic. if you want to spend less...consider a friday night or sunday (day or nite)...a winter month....cutting the guest list down....cutting out extra frilly things like ice sculptures, chocolate fountains, vienesse hours, etc....and invest in DIY projects like invites, CP's, BM gifts, and such.

that's how FH and i have cut costs on our wedding. trust me, it can be done--but you have to look at it all with realism....you can do it!

yeah, we dont care about the vien hr or sculptures, or fountains and stuff so i really think it can be done.
after all, i just want a nice place, a good dj, good photos, and my friends and family.....i dont care a bout the flowers or limos, or any extra crap......

You can do it. I'm doing it. I'm only having 80 ppl for that reason. I can't even imagine doing more than that. There's ways to do things beautifully - you just have to pick and choose what's important to you, and do some things yourself.

As of right now it is looking like I am going to spend 30k but probably when it is all said and done 35k

IT depends on what you want-if you are willing to cut thing down then you can do it for 20K

You just have to keep with what you KNOW youwant. Our whole wedding will be about 26K total and we havent really given anything that we feel was necessary up.

GOod Luck I definitely think you can do it

Including everything, Honeymoon and extras we are trying to stay around 30-35 but its mostly likely going to be 35-40! Thank goodness for my parents and their contributions, because every bit counts!

Re: wedding prices

Would you consider having it at a Knights of Columbus? That is how one of my friends is cutting cost...Don't for your dress - Flowers - photographer--what about putting the date further in 2008 to save more money! --- Don't just get married because you want to get married--You should only have to do it once and make sure you aren't just rushing in to things to get married you deserve the best and you should have it...If it means waiting another year, then I think you should consider that.... 20k to have a good hall, good dj and photographer...I think is not going to be enough ---Good photographer is 4k or over, DJ (unsure of cost) Hall pending on per head could be anywhere from 55 and up +tax & graduitiy (even on a sunday day wedding) Don't forget you then would have to pay church cost or site fees wherever you get married which is a must....but you have to make sure you factor that in as well....Don't forget invations which are a must, wedding rings, tips and meals for the dj and photograher.....Limos or transportation could be around 1200....The best idea is to make a list of your must haves and nice to haves....do that with your guest list too....Start reserching on-line and you will be able to put everything into perspective...That is what i did...
