wedding review

I just wanted to post really quickly about my sisters wedding last night...

1. Rain is NO BIG DEAL...It was actaully beautiful and refreshing...as long as you have many big umbrellas so that hair stays dry...no problem...the bridal party was going to take pictures by the docks in Northport, but instead just my sister and BIL went out with big golf umbrellas...the rest were taken inside...


2. Bocu Salon...My sister had her hair done with Dawn (she did my hair for my wedding as well)...my sister has a LOT of hair and its a bit frizzy (especially in the rain) but she did a fabulous job...She actually scheduled her for 1 1/2 hours b/c she knew what was sisters ahir was like...that why trials are always good...


3. Make-up...my sister is a HS teacher...so one of her students who goes to BOCES for cosmotology did 5 people's make-up and it looked great...It wasn't overdone...she was calming...and for 17 did a great job


4. St Patricks RCC in Northport...My family is not Catholic and most are atheist, so my dad told my sister that we would not partake in any Catholic rituals...they were more than understanding...In fact...Father Peter was funny...I overhead what he was telling the B&G...'five more mins we're done' 'its the bottom of the ninth' a very cool guy...


5. Woodbury Country Club...We got there early to take pictures since it was raining and they were ready for us...no problems...the bridal assistant (?) Ina was fabulous...the food was really fabulous as well...in fact...they didn't meet there minimum and WCC threw in a caviar station and a sushi station...and I am pretty sure that my sister didn't ask for something...they just gave it to her...

we were in the downstairs room and there was plenty of room for 170 people...

6. VIP photos...of course...We don't have the pictures, but John also did my wedding and he was out of the way the whole night...He is so easy to work with


7. VIP video...I felt that they were not as unobtrusive as John was...and maybe b/c I got married in the daytime (no lights) that I thought the light was a bit bright...but I don't know anything until I see the video...

8. DJ...I don't know his name, but I know they are from East Northport (on Larkfield Rd...i think)...I was disappointed a few times...my sister wanted an anniversary dance...so he brought the B&G to the floor to play a special song that they will play on their anniversary??? I had to go over to him and tell him what the anniversary dance was...then he did it a few songs later...

also there was a time where I was just bored...granted my feet were aching and it was getting late, but I just thought he should have picked up the tempo when there weren't many people on the dance floor...

but I will say that he did play the songs that I'm sure my sister requested...

9. my sister got her dress at Bridal Suite of Bayshore and everything went fine...as a matter of fact...none of the BMs needed alterations and my sister only needed the straps od her dress...so you know that they ordered perfect sizes (not larger so they could do more alterations)



we have a wedding at the vanderbilt at dowling tonight...I'll post details tomorrow..

Yes, my parents had quite a year...it was nice to see so much family as well...I don't know when the next wedding will be...
