So, I stopped to get my E-ring cleaned this weekend, and while they were cleaning it, I was looing at wedding bands. I fell IN LOVE with a diamond band. I tried it on, and my E-ring is to low! It's leaves a gap with every ring I tried on. I'm not crazy about the chevron bands, and don't know what else to do. The lady said the could reset my diamond into a setting with 'shoulders', but I really like the setting FH picked out...what do I do? How will I find a ring that will work with my E- ring?

Re: Wedding Ring....
Yea I have a similar problem and I couldnt find anything that worked so my options were get something custom made (too pricey for us)-- or my friend's suggestion, in her culture they wear the wedding band on the right hand- so I am thinking of going with that.

I had the same problem when looking for rings. Just keep trying them on, you'll find something!

I have the same problem!! it really annoys me.. I've seriously contemplated changing the setting but I dont want to hurt FHs feelings. If she said it was possible to put 'shoulders' I would do it, so you keep the original setting, but modifications.

Re: Wedding Ring....
i had a similar problem, but i decided to go with a custom made one that fits perfect to my e-ring...they did it soo nice that i dont mind it having that little groove where the diamond fits into. I am in loveeee with it. The only downside is that I cant wear it by itself, it always has to be worn with the e-ring which i dont mind at all! Another option that i've seen is to just get a wedding band for your left finger and where the e-ring on your right finger.

Re: Wedding Ring....
i have a slight gap between my rings and to be honest, it doesn't matter to me.
the gap between the rings doesn't matter..(to me)...it's about what the ring represents, not how close the rings are!

Re: Wedding Ring....
My diamond is set low as well, it's an antique setting/band so no wedding band sat flush with my e-ring. And I even got a band custom made, the design matches so they complement each other, but they don't touch each other completely. And it's fine. To be perfectly honest, I see ALOT of e-ring/band combos that don't sit flush with each other, I think it's increasingly more common now because e-rings are so 'different' now, they range in setting/style from the standard band with the solitaire that they used to all be. People are getting vintage/antique designs for their e-ring and it's very hard to have something sit flush with those. My e-ring looks beautiful with my wedding band and there's a gap. Don't worry at all, just get a band you love. And remember, it always leaves the option open for you to wear them on separate hands as well.

Sorry, I wansn't clear...she didn't say they could add shoulders, they could take my diamond out of my setting and we would have to pay to upgrade to a setting with shoulders...then I would have my original setting for some other gem...but I don't want to do that. My FH took my mom to help him pick it out, and I love my setting....

I feel the same way, but the problem is, that my e-ring prong was rubbing against the prongs of the wedding band, and she said that over time, it would damage the wedding band. The last thing I would want is to damage a ring that is so special to me. That's why I am trying to find a better way...

I don't have pics I will once the band come in but I went to a jeweler and had them make one to match my e-ring. I would look into that b/c they can also be cheaper. I saw ones I liked for $1,000 and mine is $600. Its worth a try!

Re: Wedding Ring....
i have a really low setting too, so nothing sits flush. I will have my diamond raised so that the setting remains the same, only with a higher basket.

How do they do that?

Re: Wedding Ring....
I have the same problem. I found an eternity band that worked, It's a 'channel' setting, so it's not raised as high as ordinary wedding bands. Keep looking, you'll find something!

Re: Wedding Ring....
i ended up resetting my e-ring because i wanted a thinner band and a very thin wedding band. So i had both the e-ring setting and wedding band custom made. pricey, but I'm very happy with how it looks and fh just wanted me to get what I wanted.

Re: Wedding Ring....
im not sure how he is going to do it, the jewler custom made my ring, so im not sure how much work will go into raising the basket.
