wedding ring questions

Hi ladies,

my engagement ring is a oval diamond with two sidestone sapphires....the center diamond extends below the band too much for me to be able to get a straight wedding band.... but i haven't been able to find any curved ones that I liked... we were in the mall this weekend and i tried on a 'jacket' set, where there was one curved piece on the top and th other on the bottom, so it was a sandwich, but it was like WOW... too much BLING for me the e-ring is so gorgeous, i dont want to lose it by adding lots more diamonds with my wedding band, but i did want a simple diamond band.... any ideas?

also, is it bad that FHring and mine obviously won't match now?

can you post pics of your curved/jacket wedding bands? where'd you get them?

TIA!!

I agree with bobbysgirl. Ae you against wearing the e-ring and wedding band together because it won't sit flush??? It really doesn't look back. Maybe it's just me.

I don't have a pic of my set, but I understand COMPLETELY what you're going through! My e-ring is an antique, DH's great-grandmothers and it's curved. We actually went to Elsa's in Farmingdale and they made a gorgeous wedding band to fit. They even replicated some of the detail on the e-ring. And the price was fantastic too.

I didn't like the way it looked where the rings didn't sit flush together... I think it looked forced... but I also didn't see a curved one that I love yet...

does anyone have pictures? even online i don't seem to see much in the way of ideas...

maybe make an appointment with a jeweler that can custom make it?

Get what your heart wants!!! That's the only way to go! Don't settle for less then that! :) My FI wedding band and my band don't match at all. His is a Mokume Wedding band and mine is an eternity wedding band. Totally different looks.

My E-ring is a plain solitaire but the eternity band does not sit flush against the ring at all and I LOVE that it doesn't. Gives a unique look to it.

Good luck in your decision and your search though!

Re: wedding ring questions

ladies, thanks for the help...

we wound up at kay this weekend and found an insert ring that fit perfectly with my e-ring... bought it cause of the great sale and have 90 days to return... i don't LOVE it, but it fits together nicely, and i'd be able to wear them both on my left hand, which is what i thought i wanted....

but in going to more jewelry stores today i saw some gorgeous regular eternity bands and now I think I'm leaning towards that....

I can wear my wedding band on my left hand and my e-ring on my right hand, right? I had my heart set on wearing them together, but we can't afford something custom right now and I'd rather get something that I really love

sigh....

I have every intention of wearing my e-ring on my right hand and my wedding band on my left... not only won't the band of my dreams not fit under my e-ring, but this way each ring can be appreciated in it's own right.

Im getting a plain band in platinum to wear with my e-ring. They dont sit flush but I do not expect to wear my e-ring every day for the rest of my life.

I have an oval diamond with two sidestone sapphires We have the same ring I have never seen anyone with a ring like mine...I LOVE It!

But I am in the same situation as you...I think I am going to get an eternity band and just let it be. I have seen some pics of the e-ring and wedding band that don't sit flush and I think it looks fine.

Not my ring, but here is an example of what I have seen

i've never seen a ring like mine either, that's sort of exciting :)

i think im going to go with the separate band and not worry about wearing them together... i feel like my e-ring is so gorgeous and so much fancier than anything i'd ever normally wear, that to get something that would only make the e-ring look even more ornate wouldn't really be me.... ya know what i mean?

That posted picture of them not sitting flush doesn't look so bad actually... but on my hand I didnt like how it looked...

I agree...it is kind of exciting to know that someone else has a similar ring

Go with what you love. You will have it forever and you want to love it more everytime you look at it
