Wedding Showcases

Hey All Bride-to-Bes!!

What are your thoughts about Bridal Showcases / Wedding Showcases? I have never been to one.. and see that some cost $20.00 to attend, are they worth it? Have you been to any? Let's hear everyone's thoughts! I also saw the watermill has a wedding seminar, any reviews on this?

And trunk shows? Thoughts?

I would love to attend a few, but do not want to waste my time either. Just looking to know what to expect.

Thanks Guys!!!

Wedding Showcases

Bridal Showcases are great for meeting with many different vendors and getting tons of information packages. Ones that aren't at venues are generally free (LI Weddings has a free one coming up in April if you sign up online and has tons of vendors! and there's one this weekend at Suffolk Community College that I think is free?).

Wedding Showcases

When my brother was getting married back in 2007 I went with him and my SIL to a couple of the showcases and they were very valuable. You got to see Bands, Djs, Bakers an array of people in professions that are very well informed. I think its worth it to go to at least 2 and see how you feel once you get out of them.

FH and I went to one that we didnt really enjoy - but then we went to one at Fox Hollow, which is usually 20$ but they waive it for their brides, and we really enjoyed that one! met alot of great vendors and had alot of their cocktail hour food

They're better if you go to the one at your venue if they have one. If you go to the big ones they're very overwhelming (I thought so anyway)

Wedding Showcases

I went to one that was small and felt overwhelmed lol. I had intended on going to the one this weekend, but I feel like it might be a lot of the same, and my venues showcase is on Sunday so I'll just be going to that one to see some of their preferred vendors and to eat more delicious food. Lol but I did get helpful information so I would say to go to at least one showcase.

Wedding Showcases

I've been trying to go to each one at my venue. It gives you a chance to see the place every 6 or so months (especially when you book 2.5 years in advance like me lol). It also gives you a chance to try the food.

I also went to LIW's bridal showcase last spring and it was HUGE. Definitely overwhelming since I'd only booked my venue at that point. But now, I have all my major vendors booked (except limos, hair, makeup, tuxes, dress, etc.) so there's really no point in going now lol.
