Wedding Sites - The Meadow Club

I just found this site and I think it will be invaluable in finding local vendors. I also want to Congratulate everyone here! My FH and I have been looking at reception halls and are pretty close to booking ours at The Meadow Club in Port Jefferson. We wanted to have it someplace not everyone has been to before, as a result we have no idea how good the service and food is. Has anyone heard anything good or bad about it? (We feel asking them for references would be futile, they would only give us the names of people that were thrilled with their event) Thanks so much for any info you have.

Wedding Sites - The Meadow Club

I personally don`t know first hand about The Meadow club, but I was also looking for a hall out of the mainstream. I found one, and b/c I did not know much about the food, references, etc., I put a deposit down and then heard horror stories about the place. Long story short, it`s not worth the headache! Therefore, I would suggest you do as much research as possible before deciding. I would also ask them for references - sure, they`ll give you happy customers, but you`ll be able to speak to them and get a lot more info. Below is the Better Business Bureau`s website. This is a great help when deciding on any vendor. http://38.149.37.128/bbbny/searchny.html

Wedding Sites - The Meadow Club

I've never been there for a wedding, but I went there for a Bridal Expo after a friend told me about the Meadow Club. It seemed like a nice place to me. The food was good. The people who worked there seemed really nice. The price was excellent. A friend of mine was going to get married there - she had it booked and everything. But she wound up cancelling it and when she told them, they were super-nice about it and even gave her back her 'non-refundable' deposit, which they didn't have to do. My father also knows someone whose daughter got married there and they were thrilled with the place. I ruled it out kinda quickly, only because I am getting married at the reception site rather than Church and the area they have there to get married is too close to the road. But it seemed like a pretty nice place other than that. Lots of luck to you!!!

Wedding Sites - The Meadow Club

My cousin got married there a few years ago and it was wonderful. The only thing I will comment on is the way the room was set up. It was in the shape of an L and the band was set up on the small part of the L and people that sat at the far end of the L could not see the dance floor. Now mind you my cousins had alot of guests so maybe if your wedding is smaller it will not be that way. The cocktail hour was outside and was beautiful!! the grounds are very nice too Good Luck Lisa

I liked it too, we went to an expo there last year when we were looking, the food was great, but for the reason Karen said, about the ceremony & the road being close ( I felt like the Kmart was right there!!) we chose Eastwind, not someplace many people have been too (that was important to us) & perfect for a garden wedding at the hall.

We're getting married at East Wind, too! At the Estate in June! It is a really beautiful place and I'm really happy with everything about them so far. It was tough finding a reception site that had beautiful rooms AND a nice place to get married outside, but they really do have both there! Lots of luck!

C&D My sister got married at the Meadow Club 2 years ago. It was really nice, and the food was excellent. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. They are one of a few places that offers different package deals when it comes to the menu, which is nice for someone on a budget, and wants to get married on a Sat. evening. She had the smaller room, and it was just NICE!!
