FH was still working on college last year (at 32) and a couple of the kids in his class were playing the 311 version on a laptop. They were like Listen to this new 311 song! And he said That's not 311, it's The Cure!

They had never heard of them before. That was his first Old Man moment I think.

And one time we were listening to it and I was thinking hey, this would be a great song for us, this is exactly how I feel. Just as I'm about to say this my butthead FH says 'If Nicole (his ex) and I had gotten married, this would have been our song.' But excellent choice!

My song was a bit out of the ordinary. Since both DH and I are big Metallica fans, we choose 'Nothing else matters' by Metallica. The words to the song were just perfect, it really was just about how we just don't care what anyone thinks about us, and in general, in life. Live life your own way.

I know that is a bit too rock and roll for some people, but Bif Naked did a version (girl singer) and I think that one is much nicer for a wedding. Just a different suggestion.

I originally wanted Sade ' By your side' b/c I have always loved that song..but then once I told DH I was thinking about Metallica, his face lit up and there was no going back lol
