OK- my FH and I are torn... we know traditionally you are supposed to have the BM give the speech but we want to change things up a bit and have the MOH do it instead. Do you think its tacky/mean?

no MOH does them alot.... Personally I am afraid of the speeches, I was reading on MSN yesterday about the worse ones.... little bit scary...

there are no set rules, do whatever works for you best...ive seen MOH's give a speech and have seen BM give a speech and seen both do it too. It doesnt matter, and nobody would even think twice

At most weddings Ive been to both MH and BM do speechs ...I think its whatever you want

It's traditional for the Best Man to give a speech..now adays both the Best Man and MOH do it..in my case we are only making the Best Man do one! My MOH doesn't have to do one..she's afraid of speeches and so am I! If I make her do one she's gonna make me do one when she gets married!..lol

we sent an email to our BP and said - anyone who wants to give a speech - just let us know and that's it.
we left it all up to them.
