Re: Wedding Themes?
I don't really have a theme we were going to get married around thanksgiving so we were going to have everything fall looking and the centerpieces were going to be cornicopia (sp?) but now we are getting married in september so just getting things that we like but making sure it matches and fits in with everything else

Re: Wedding Themes?
my sister is doing a beach theme, she's getting married on the beach at Gurney's, the STD's were magnets that were a picture of the beach with the word love scrawled in the sand, and a starfish, and foot prints, and or course thier names...the favors are going to be dolphin bottle openers, the placecards are going on a table covered with sand and driftwood into little galvanized pails (placecards sticking out of the pails), and the centerpieces are candles with seashells in them in a hurricane lamp -I really wanted her to do goldfish in a bowl, but she thought they'd die.....

My gown was my first wedding decision and with all of the beading and detail on it, the dress just looked better in the ivory than the white. It's too much to rent ivory linens, etc.

Re: Wedding Themes?
I guess you could call my theme a Shakespeare AND Love theme...I am inspired by the sets and costumes of Shakespeare IN Love, but I am really interested in incorporating my favorites from his works...
thus far, I am doing:
modern takes on the gowns of the day for my girls I am in a full skirt with an embroidered bodice invitations will be scrolls hand-delivered, as whas custom in his day Sonnets and Plays for table numbers Programs and menus will be laid out on antique paper as plays ( Act !, Scene 1 etc) flowers in bo-ks and cps will be flowers mentioned in his plays part of the favor will be a framed copy of one of my favorite sonnets (don't know yet if I will give guests copies of the sonnet that also was their table number...)
I think that's it...for NOW anyway!
oh yeah- did I mention we are getting married on his recorded birth AND death day- and we are using 12th night photography!

that's cool- are you doing it like the movie version...with a Grecian spin...
in any event, if i were you, I would stay clear of structured looking cp;s and have the tables look like the forest floor....candles and lots of petals....flowers strewn around the plates....
i found these candle holders at Crate 7 Barrel that i thought may work for you, but i can't post the pic, so here's the link
