Does everyone have a theme for their wedding? I just started to look at invitations, and I was asked 'what is my theme?' I don't even know where to start!!!! Your assistance will be greatly appreciated.

We are getting married on the North Fork where my Fiance's parents have their summer-home and where we got engaged. Our reception is at Vineyard Caterers so we are going with the whole Long Island Wine Country Theme. The catering hall only serves local wine and we are having a cake decorated with grapes, etc. Our centerpieces will look like grapevines with autumn colored roses and flowers and real grapes will be places in a wreath below the centerpiece. We may also (if we can afford it) give out small local bottles of wine as favors.

I guess I never really thought of a theme, but it seems like it ended up that way - our invitations have little flowers on them, my dress is beaded with flowers, my shoes have flowers, the favors have flowers....you get the idea - it wasn't planned, but turned out that way LOL.

Dresses - Mary
They are a very pale platinum but not 'shiny' like satin. The material is called iridescent shantung (whatever)=:) Picture is shown in gold on this site: http://www.jimhjelmoccasions.com/bridesmaid/2015.html We were worried that it wouldn't go with my autumn colored flowers but actually, it creates a neat contrast.

Mary, I am getting married in October and we are having a whole fall theme for our wedding. The invitations we picked have a maple leaf on the front. My BMs are wearing gold and toffee dresses..our centerpieces is a wreath of fall flowers that surround a candle holder with a gold base and a gold candle. I just love the fall and wanted to make the most of the theme. We are thinking about having some sort of fall leaves on our cake too By the way, we are getting married at West Lake Inn...I see that you are another Lovin Oven bride! Good Luck. I went to a wedding there in October and it was fabulous!! Lisa Rose

We also didn't mean to have a theme, but it kind of turned out that way. My 5 BMs and MOH are all wearing different pastel colors-pink, blue, mint green, butterscotch, peach and lavendar. So we're also thinking of ways to incorporate the rainbow idea into the favors, centerpieces, and flowergirl baskets. Their bouquets will match their dresses as well, bringing further attention to the different colors.Welcome New Vendors
