I was wondering, does anyone have a particular theme for their wedding?
I am trying to think of something that I can carry through the printed material and decorations but I cannot think of anything original. (I don't mean a costume/period wedding.) We haven't come across anything that appealed to us yet.
What's everyone else thinking of doing?

Wedding Themes
We are getting married 11/03/01. We are having a fall theme wedding. The BM's dresses are espresso brown, there will be little pumpkins on each of the tables and we are having maple syrup as our favors. There is a fireplace at the Sans Souci, which they will have on. Good luck.

fm221 sounds beautiful
I went to a wedding that had the theme: Love is.... (and named each table with a saying) They also tied in Cinderella.

Wedding Themes
We are kind of doing a pressed flower theme. We had a pressed flower on our invitations, we will have them on the placecards and table cards, they will be on our thank you notes. We also have candles with pressed flowers. Not much of a theme but it was our way of tying it all together.

Thanks Nicola! - one more tie in
We are naming each table with Vermont town names, which is where we got engaged.

Fall theme
Our wedding is 10/20/01 and we are doing a total fall theme. From the invitations (leaves on them) to the centerpieces (wreath of flowers in fall colors) to the girls dresses in toffee and gold.
Good Luck

Heres our ideas!
I am getting married Oct 6th at Flowerfield-- and we wanted to have a Fall Garden theme. Our centerpieces are eight terracotta pots ( guilded to look antique) all in the center of the table-- they have ivy and very fall colored flowers. They have 'Danielle loves Jim' written on each pot -- and the guestd take one as their favor. The girls dresses are wine colored -- and we used a lot of deep rich colors and Ivy througout. I hope this helps.

Heres our ideas!
We are trying to keep to a summer/beach theme. Very colorful summer flowers for the centerpieces, and a light green, light yellow theme. Not quite sure what to do for favors. I'm thinking candles, but it doesn't have much to do with our theme.

Wedding Themes
I had a client who got married several months ago, and she did a seaside theme wedding. She had seashells on her invites, her bouquets, boutinerres, pew bows, centerpieces and even her cake. Her pictures were lovely and her ceremony/reception were on the beach with a breathtaking view of the water!

Fall theme too
I am using a fall theme, like many of the other girls. I am also giving maple syrup as a favor.
You can go to
www.ultimatewedding.com, click on boards and then Themes. There are thousands of posts about tons of themes. On my good friends had a seashell theme and it was great. I have gotten great ideas from that site. I bet you would find tons of things you liked.

Fall theme too
We are getting married on 9/23/01 and we also are having a fall theme. Fall color flowers, decorating the gazebo where we are getting married with cornstalks, maple syrup as favors..etc etc. I can't wait and I am hoping and praying that it doesn't rain.

Winter theme here...
I'm getting married 12/13/02 - I wanted to get some sort of snowflake like invitation, the hall does a winter decoration theme in the room, I wanted to get pine cones, put 'fake snow' on them and attach the table cards, I would love to have a snow man/woman cake topper! The favors should be wintery, but I'm not sure if I want them too, I already had a couple of ideas in mind...good luck!
