Wedding Timelines...

Wedding Timelines...

What is the point of this, and when do they have to be done? I have a cousin who is being a real pain in my arse!!! Her daughter is the flower girl, and she is upset because we have hair appointments at 9am and she feels her daughter will get cranky and doesn't understand why our appointments are so early when the wedding isn't until 5:30. I guess she forgot what it was like to be a bride, and have 6 girls getting their hair done and make up. UNBELIEVABLE!!!! I've been having an email war w/her and am on the verge of telling her not to bother coming. This story is too long to get further into detail..but to give you a little input...this family...MY FAMILY has been VERY annoying...from offering MY apartment to stay in when I only have 2 bedrooms that are TAKEN, to now complaining about hair appointments because her 4-1/2 year old daughter will need a nap that day!! How does she know that w/all the excitement she will need/want a nap? If she does..we'll handle it then. I don't need to be concerned about that !! Then to top it off..she goes on to criticize me for not having a fargin timeline or knowing what time my rehearsal is going to be! I haven't had my FINAL appt w/my hall yet and don't know this info...and won't know until 9/4 so how the farg am I supposed to tell her???? AND WHO IS SHE ANYWAY!!!! I'm sorry I didn't know it was THAT hard to let people know what time they had to be and where. How hard is it to SHOW UP!!!!!!

Re: Wedding Timelines...

My wedding was at noon - but pics started at 11.

People had to be at the house for hair and m/u at 5:30 AM

It's just what it is - if she agreed to be your BM, then she as to agree to all of it!

Re: Wedding Timelines...

I FEEL YA SISTER.... I TOLD MY SISTER IN LAW THAT MY BROTHER NEEDS TO GO AND GET MEASURED FOR HIS TUX .... SHE SAID WHEN I ASKED HER TO GO AS SOON AS POSSIBLE TO GET IT DONE... SHE THEN PROCEEDS TO TELL ME THAT WHEN HER BROTHER GOT MARRIED HE ONLY HAD TO GO LIKE 2 WEEKS BEFORE... THAT THAT SHOULD BE ENOUGH TIME...

IF I START A FIGHT NOW IT WILL ONLY ESCALATE TO THINGS THAT SHOULD NOT BE SAID SO I SAID FINE.... NOW I WANT TO CALL BACK AND TELL HER THAT I NEED FOR HER TO GO THAT IT WOULD MAKE ME FEEL BETTER IF HE WENT..... SEE HOW FAR THAT WILL GET ME......

AND HIS BROTHER AND NEPHEW ARE IN THE WEDDING AND HE TOLD THEM ALSO THAT THEY CAN GO AND THEY HAVE NOT GONE YET EITHER... I ASKED DH TO TELL THEM AND HE SAID THAT HE IS NOT GOT TO NAGG..... HE WILL REMIND THEM AGAIN.... I MEAN FOR PETE SAKE JUST GO IT TAKES 10 FRIGGIN MINUTES AND FH PAID FOR THEM ALL SO IT'S NOT LIKE THEY HAVE ANYTHING TO WORRY ABOUT.....

Re: Wedding Timelines...

People are ridiculous!!!!!

But I would be shocked to know that hair is being done at 9 for a 530 wedding too. Mine started at 8 for a 230 wedding and I had 8 other girls with me. Any chance to have her hair done last? My BM, who was the FG's mom, was scheduled last. She didn't have to be there until 10.

Is everyone actually getting their hair done at 9? All my girls were done during a 3 hour period and I specifically asked the salon when each one should arrive so they weren't just standing around. Just a thought.

Maybe I'm naive, but you actually have to wait to meet with your hall to find out the rehearsal time?

Anyway, you'll never please everybody, so just do what you want.

Are you doing pictures before the ceremony? 9 AM seems early to me. My ceremony is at 2:30, and my hair and makeup people are arriving at 10:30 AM. Granted, there are 4 of us getting done, not six, but it still seems early to me.

Also, you can leave the FG as the last person to get her hair done, so they don't actually have to be there at 9 AM, they can come at least an hour later, if not two!

I am going to tell her to come later, but honestly her hair is NOT easy to do..and my hair dresser has never seen or done her hair. The make up artist is going to the hall to do our makeup at 2pm, and my hair dresser is at the salon not at the place. I guess whoever gets done, get done and whoever doesn't ...doesn't. As long as I am done...then I'm ok. We are taking pictures before the ceremony (just the girls).

Re: Wedding Timelines...

i had the same timing issues. teh hair appts started at 9:30 and my aunt was saying that it was early and that the fg would be tired. so when her hair was done and her m/u was done, she took her and anyone else who was finished to the house, my parents, to relax and eat.

my ceremony started at 3:30 and the photographer was there before 2. but just to be there, there was no rush at all.

all in all, it worked out fine. yes, she was tired and its a long day, but she was burning up the dance floor until 12....
