wedding transportation help

Hey all,

I've just been informed by my parents that i need to provide transportation for some of our wedding guests to the wedding and back. I need help asap. Its bad enough that my financee and I are paying for this wedding ourselves, now we have to worry about how the guests will get there. Any recommendations on transportation companies? It doesn't have to be extravagant..only cheap. We need a bus or something to pick up the guests at a designated location in Brooklyn to Mineola, and back to Brooklyn at the end of the wedding. I have no idea where to start. I am most certainly not going to hire some fancy bus. Its amazing how parents can demand things when they are not even contributing.

Why do you need to provide transportation for your guests????? You should not be responsible for how your guests get to and from your wedding. You should only be responsible for you and FH, and your BP.

That's what I said to my parents...however, they felt otherwise and pretty much gave me a huge guilt trip..so now i'm stuck. The funny thing is they all have cars but they just don't want to drive. Now I have to pay for these lazy guests. This truly *****.

no you don't - you just let them know that you are unable to do so due to budget and that you hope they can make it ! you don't have to do anything you don't want !

You should not have to provide them transportation just because they don't want to drive.

But if you are stuck contact TranStar. They are reliable, good vehicles and great pricing.

We're going to be doing this. I kind of feel obligated since we have tons of OOT guests and since I had to book the church and reception so far from each other. lol! Anyway, I've heard good things about Academy for coach buses!

if you are thinking about a bus, check out www.busrates.com. you can get quotes from like 50 companies there. I found some really good prices there.

Okay, this is not your responsibility. That's not right that they expect a free ride when they have cars. I hope they get you NICE gifts.

IMO I think it's highly unfair of them to expect you to transport your own guests. It is honor to be invited to someone's wedding. Under extreme circumstances I could see getting transporation for them and even then someone should be contributing towards that added expense as you and FH have more than enough on your plates.
Best of luck hon.

Honestly you should give the price quotes to your folks if they are insisted and tell them its there wishes and its there choice to have or not and they need to pay. I did look into and i know bus ran 1000 or so the best rate was renting 14 pass vans. You should stand your ground!

I second transtar. We used them for our wedding, they were awesome!
