Wedding Venue Help

So my fh and I are still trying to find a venue we have been to like 20 places already and haven't fell in love with any yet we liked but didn't have the omg this is it reaction to it. We fell in love with Land's End but they are just out of our budget. I have been trying to think of places to contact that are different that are not your typical wedding venue but do weddings like vineyards. I went as far as contacting cruise lines, bronx zoo, the aquarium.....I have like 20 more appointments with other places but getting very discouraged and stressed lol. So decided to ask and see if anyone knows any off the beaten bath kind of places, scenic, different, anything like that.

I don't really know what your budget is but originally this is the route we were going to take but it wasn't worth the money..Paramount is really different and easy to work with..and I don't know if you want to stay in Long Island but The Bookstore Cafe in city is amazing and not typical city prices and part of the funds go to charity and part of the wedding is tax deductible..and The Liberty Warehouse is great..I couldn't find anything on Long Island that 'fit us'. We ended up at Fox Hollow because I couldn't take it anymore and they had the date we wanted and were reasonable and didn't try and nickle and dime us when we asked for things. It's hard when you settle but you have to make the most of it..I just want to marry him so IDC anymore..LOL

I feel like I am going to end up doing that as well. I already asked my fh if we can just go to vegas he said no lol. The planning has only just begun and I'm stressed. Thank you so much for the tips I will have to look up those places. If you don't mine me asking what kind of rates is Fox Hollow going for right now?

I am going to Lombardi's on the Bay Saturday have no clue if they will be on the cheaper end of LI wedding halls but I guess I will find out. I will keep that place in mind if it isn't. So going to drive the FH nuts lol.

If you're looking for something different and on a tighter budget, I recommend looking into the Queens County Farm Museum. They have a farmhouse/barn you can rent for inexpensive.

Is it just renting space kind of place? We went to a winery that was like that but when all said and done after you get a dj, caterer ect your paying just the same amount you would at a place that offers a package deal and you really only deal with 5 vendors vs 20 vendors to deal with lol.

how large is your guest list? we're getting married at jedediah hawkins inn in jamesport-we really didn't want a typical catering hall, but we have a small guest list so it worked for us

We did a rough draft list and we have 140 written down but he might have to add some ppl. I can estimate 10-20 no's right off the bat so 120-140 is our approximate right now.

Just an FYI.. LOB is MUCH pricier then Sunset.. Thats why FH and I went there.. I origionally wanted LOB but it was just too far out of my price range and we had to cut a lot out to get it to a number that we could entertain.. In the end it just wasnt worth it.. Sunset ended up giving us more in their package anyway...

The Riviera in Massapequa is on the water, very pretty, NOT your typical marble-and-crystal type decor and very reasonable price-wise. If you haven't checked them out, you might want to at least visit their website.

Did you go to the Venetian Yacht Club? My reception will be at Lands End, but we also visited Venetian Yacht Club and we really liked that venue also.
