Wedding Venue Help

Original post by bridejackson22

So my fh and I are still trying to find a venue we have been to like 20 places already and haven't fell in love with any yet we liked but didn't have the omg this is it reaction to it. We fell in love with Land's End but they are just out of our budget. I have been trying to think of places to contact that are different that are not your typical wedding venue but do weddings like vineyards. I went as far as contacting cruise lines, bronx zoo, the aquarium.....I have like 20 more appointments with other places but getting very discouraged and stressed lol. So decided to ask and see if anyone knows any off the beaten bath kind of places, scenic, different, anything like that.

Wedding Venue Help

I have an appointment with vineyards. My fh is like losing his mind ..so am I cause I have made so many appointments. We still haven't found a place we 'love' We found like 4 that the prices were ok and the places we were like they are ok but I haven't had the same reaction as we both did to Land's End. I think after we get through this wave of apppointments lol were going to make an appointment with Crest Hollow, Riveria, and Venetian. I feel like by the end of this summer probably more like October at this rate I will have viewed every wedding venue location on long island lol So fustrating and its only step one.

I've heard great things about the riveria and it has a different look to it, very rustic. IMO venetian is very pretty but I wouldn't call it unique or out of the ordinary Crest Hallow too, very pretty but also reminds me of a typical catering hall. How about the Foundry in Long Island City or Studio Square in Astoria? Not sure how they are in pricing though. Good luck!!!

you can have a reception and ceremony at studio square? hmmm i love going there never thought of that place as a place that would open themselves up to weddings.

What places have you looked at so I don't name many of the same places you've already went to. Also what is the max prices pp you are looking to spend.
We couldn't afford my venue for the month we originally wanted but I LOVED the hall so much that I moved the wedding to the winter so I can have the place I got that feeling. I also booked the Sunday of a holiday weekend to cut costs there.

I am trying to do that now with Lands End I am waiting to hear back from them to find out if its even affordable for really off season months. I thought doing september and october on a friday or sunday would be cheaper but its still not that cheap at most places like lands end is still coming up depending on the day and month in fall 105-175pp with a pretty high min. My fh and I fell in love with Land's End thought it was great loved the location when we got the price sheet my heart sank. I have been to so many places, requested pricing i feel like from everywhere lol. I feel like a nut right now cause I have called everything from the bronx zoo, to the Island 16 movie theater to get pricing on weddings lol. We have been to Lombardi' bay and sound, Island hills country club, smithtown landing, thacht cottage, Land's End, Indigo Blue. I have gotten pricing from carnival and norwegian cruise lines, New York zoo and aquariums, palmer's vineyard, sole east, some yacht cruise in the city, hudson theater, a few other places in the city lol. I have appointments coming up with Timber point, Bourne mansion, giorgios, east wind, hyatt, west sayville country club, and I know im forgetting like a bunch of others I just don't have my little date book with me. A lot of places and yet none of the places we have been to since Land's End have we got that wow this is great feeling. I don't know if that is cause it was the first place we looked at and we were excited lol. My budget for a venue is 10-12k I would really like to stick to that and not go over that way i can spend the rest of my budget without having to cheap on photos or something else just as important cause I went outside my budget for a venue. My poor fh he has been dealing with my sitting up at night in bed till 2 sometimes 4am typing away on the computer looking for a venue lol.
