wedding venues

wedding venues

HELP! My fiance and I were looking into having a destination wedding but recently decided against it because he has a big family and most of them wouldn't be able to come :(

With that said I feel like I have a huge wish list and am never going to find the right venue. We will be having about 250 people at our reception, I would like something by the water or with a lot of greenery and I don't want a hall that looks like a building, I want something that feels like home :)

Any suggestions is greatly appreciated! Where are you having your wedding?!

Obvi I am partial to VYC, but it does look like a building to be honest. The water in the back is amazing and the views are all fabulous but from the front, it's a catering hall.

Timber Point is very homey. I personally had some issues with the interior, but it was a large mansion that sits a few hundred feet from the Great South Bay. Try it.

We wanted a destination as well, we wanted Montauk because that's semi-destination but quickly decided against it.

We booked with Rob at Giorgio's the scenery is to die for, right up the road from the beach and you get that feel that you're a lot further from where you really are. FM me if you want more info!!!

Flower Field
Westbury Manor
The Royalton (it's pricey though)
De Seversky Mansion

If you want a homey feel I would try a country club setting rather than an actual hall.

Timber Point
Bellport Country Club
Smithtown Landing Country Club (although I think it only holds 200 but could be wrong)

When you said you wanted something that doesn't look like just a building, with greenery, I immediately thought of Glen Cove Mansion... it doesn't quite look like MY home (though I wish I lived there... )... but it is much more elegant looking than a hall, IMO. I am sure it is quite pricey, but it looks so prettyyyyy...

More in a reasonable price range, Thatched Cottage is by the water and probably has a more cozy homey feel to it (as the name cottage may suggest!).

If you want something by the water I highly reccomend the Coral House it's beautiful and reasonable.
