We are so torn between hiring a videographer or just going with photography.

What is everyone else doing - is it worth the money? Obviously I'd love to see the video afterwards but everyone I talk to says that they only watch it the first year they are married and so many people have told me that they dont even know where it is anymore..

We are doing capture the moment for video. She has pricing on her website and tons of highlight reels to check out. I think the day is going to go by so fast and it was important for us to have it filmed, especially the ceremony and the speeches.

And to add, we don't really care about watching drunk relatives dance on the dance floor. What I really liked about Jessica from Capture the Moment she said that we could edit our video before she gave the final copy to us. If we wanted more ceremony, less dancing, etc.

We are doing both. Brides that I have spoken to who did not use a videographer regretted it and those that used a videographer were so happy that they did. There are many vendors you can choose from and discuss with FH regarding budget. Good luck!

We're doing both. All of my friends who recently got married still watch their video. If you have it in the budget for both, than I would definitely recommend getting both.

I was really torn about this as well and since FH and I are footing the bill for everything I just couldn't see spending so much on something so many people say they don't watch. I was actually 100% ready to call it a wash with the video and just do photo, and I guess it was really important to my FMIL for us to have one... so she ended up giving us the money for the video. She thinks we'd regret it haha. We are going with Capture the Moment for photo & video. Jess is great.

Originally we weren't going to because we didn't want to spend the money, but I'm the type of person that LOVES watching home videos so I know it'll be worth it. I knew if we didn't get it I would probably regret it forever. We're also using Capture the Moment.

We are doing photo and video through the same company. Like the other ladies above said, the day goes by so quickly. If you don't want video for the whole day I'm sure you could get video for a few hours rather than the whole day to save some money.

We did it and after just seeing the day of edits I am glad we did bc the day goes so fast he. Captured things I didn't even see

Doing both and I could cancel everything else BUT my videographer and still be thrilled!
Love them so much!

Our plan was that we'd rather put the money into photography. Now were thinking were gonna add video after seeing so many gorgeous highlight reels. Capture the moment has amazing pricing and we'll definitely go with them if we decide to def do it. Their pricing is on their website.

I did a video because I used to watch my parent's video all the time as a kid and I still love watching it.

That's exactly what I said! Everyone I know didn't watch it, if they did it was only once!! FH insisted on getting it so we are. Its included in our package so it wasn't any extra for us.....but we could have put that toasts something else.

My opinion is, if it's in your budget, do it. You're never going to look back and say, I wish we hadn't gotten video I wish we didn't have this most special of days captured to watch any time we want. LOL! We can't afford it, and we're still doing it. Even if you never watch it, your kids will want to. It blows their mind to imagine that you existed before they were born.

If a full videographer isn't in your budget (as it isn't in mine) you could always go with one of those shoot your own places. We're using WedFlik. They send you 5 HD handheld cameras to use in the days around and including your wedding. Then, depending on your package you get anything from just raw footage to a 20 minuted professionally edited video. Prices start at like $350 or something. I have a cousin who does video production/editing for fun who offered (before I even considered doing this) to record and edit it all - so that worked out perfectly for us.

I was married before and got a video. The only thing it captured that I didn't see was my BM's top falling down and her new, huge fakies coming out for all to see when I threw the bouquet. I can't say that was worth it, and I only watched it a couple of times after I got it. I'm not getting one this time, the photos are plenty. And remember all the guests take pictures and videos....

I was married before and my VHS tape is in the closet lol...But thinking about it, I am glad it is there....I have my 2 grandmas on there who has since passed. So it would be nice to see again...to bad my ex is in it...I know this time we cannot afford it. I actually just emailed silverfox yesterday to get the pricing but its just not in the budget. I know me and FH would watch it a lot more then I would have my last one.
