Wedding Website

Wedding Website

This may be a stupid question, but its been driving me nuts!

what is the purpose of a wedding website?

FH started working on our site about 6 months ago and now I'm starting to lose sight of why we had it in the first place. At first, we wanted to use it as our STDs as well as an RSVP function to save on postage.. now I'm starting to think, maybe I won't use it for RSVPs?

Are any of your girls using the website so guests can RSVP on the site so they don't have to mail back the RSVPs? If so, what kind of wording are you using for the RSVP cards?

Thanks!

its a great way to show everyone your story , pictures, date and times , rd, ceremenoy location, reception location, places they can go when they are in town , link to all your registries... everyone that sees my website say to me 'its awesome' a stranger even complimented me on my page saying how useful it is for all guests. plus its nice to see everyone wish you good luck and you can print that out and keep it forever

i plan on making rsvp through the site optional for computer savy people/lazy people who cant drop something in the mailbox

I did it for fun too, and so that people could get some info ahead of time, like hotel rooms and stuff like that, since i have a lot of oot guests.

it's a great way to have everything in one place for your guests as well as give a little story and/or pics, too. I think it's just fun!

Re: Wedding Website

We use it as a way for our guests to know us and the bridal party better. I haven't met all of FH's family and he hasn't met all of mine. We're also using it to ask our guests to upload pictures from the wedding onto there. We've also put up our registry information so that we don't have to send it with the invitation. We're not using the RSVP function on it as we're finding that not all of our guests are tech savvy.

Re: Wedding Website

Our wedding website has a link to our registry. It's better to send a link of the entire website (that includes ceremony place/time, info about our families and pictures) rather than just what gifts we want!

It's on my to do list to make one.
Do you guys put a link to the registry on there? How does that work?

Re: Wedding Website

I have one for accessibility to information for guests. Half or more of our guests are from outside of NY so giving them hotel information and whatnot a head of time was important

I did one because I have so much family that live in different states and I wanted them to stay updated. I do not want to use it for RSVP's though

I just did mine for fun as well. Acutally I made like 4 of them...HAHA. The engaged stuff got to me as well. I only use the one from here only bc it's easiest. LOL. I put it on all the magnets...and my guests Love it... makes it easy to know what's going on.

It's also a great and appropriate way for you to tell your guests where you're registered. Since it's not really appropriate to put it on your STDs or invitations, you can put your website info on the STDs and they can see the info there w/out offending anyone.
