My mother in law had a question and I didnt know the answer to it. Are we supposed to tip the makeup lady and the hair lady? Even if its their own business? and if yes how much? The makeup is 100 each and I think the hair is around the same cost.

hmm, i'm using sarah rock and she does hair on her own-- so i was under the assumption that i am not supposed to tip her b/c the 100 or so dollars all goes to her-- same thing with jacqueline nicole for make up.

i had Oksana for makeup and Mya @ Cosmetic Artistry for hair. both own these businesses but i tipped them anyway. but since i was paying for all my girls to have their hair/makeup done as part of their present (on top of other things), i just told them to tip the ladies according to how they liked their services. i think all in all each walked away with about $80 each (from 6 girls).

i don't think you HAVE to really and i don't think they EXPECT it either. i ended up tipping mine b/c htey did such great work, got up extremely early for me [hair lady AT our house in EAST nassau from queens at 3:45am] and in the end, didn't charge me 'full price'

If you are really happy with their work then I think you should tip them. You don't have to tip if it's their own business but I think it's nice to

i don't think its necessary and since the two ladies doing my hair and makeup own their own business....I am not going to tip above the $ they charge for their service......it can just get way out of control with hair and makeup costing $200 thats $40 tip!!!! JMO

for make up..if i have 5 girls winter deal is bride is free.....so if that does happen......then since im not paying i will give her something! But rule usually is if they own you dont tip....normally i do follow that but for my wedding i dont think i would...i think id def give something. 20$?!

I agree. I plan to have extra $ on hand for a tip in case I feel they have gone above and beyond.

I would give $20 per person, you do tip when you get a haircut so same rule applies
I do agree with this, however, I would give them a little something. I do plan on tipping. My hair is not done by the owner but I am using Jaqueline Nicole. Although I already purchased 2 GC for my MOH's. She still has 4 faces to do and is traveling a long way. I plan on tipping her 50-100 dollars. Sorry.

i say if your going to there work place and they own it then yes you should tip them there stll doing a service for you. if there coming to your home then you don't have too because they are pocketing the money. but you can tip if you want too. i know when i get a extra tip when i go to someones home makes me feel really good that they really loved the work i did for them., doesn't have to be alot just a thought that you appericate them cominmg to you.
