Wedding withdrawal???

Re: Wedding withdrawal???

after going to another friend's wedding, i learned that it was great that she had family and friends 'assigned to take pics' at the wedding.

during my wedding, i wished i had done that. it insured that certain people were responsible for pictures and you knew who to go to when you wanted copies of the photos. i thought that was a really good idea...

another thing i learned was that i wished i asked my bridal party to do more. not that they weren't there for support, but since i felt that i wanted them to have fun, i didn't ask too much of them during the wedding.

now i realized that i should've asked them to take more pictures, made sure that my hair looked ok ( i had strands falling out that i didn't notice until pictures were done) , man the guestbook table...that sorta thing....but not complaining, everythign came out well.

don't be afraid to ask for HELP. I'm the type of person who is non-confrontational and don't like to ask for help because i want to handle it all myself, but you know what? it's your wedding day and its the day that you CAN and SHOULD ask for help! even just with the RH, I wished i was more assertive with the cake. i hated it...but i didn't want to change it...also just from past dealings, i felt that they were defensive and wouldn't really understand my feelings anyways. but in the end, you are paying big $$, you should have a say....

I'm that way too, I'm super independent and am used to do things myself and do them right. I have serious fears in delagating responsibilty with wedding stuff because I just feel it wont get done right.

Everytime I asked soemone to help they screw something up. I am extreemly detail oriented, okay so I'm a control freak, but not uusually, just regarding wedding.

Its making me nuts.

yeah i know how you feel! i'm a total control freak. I have a vision! a vision!

anyways in the end you can only do what you can and on the day of you just gotta entrust others to help ya...also in the end you don't really have too much time to worry about the details because you are running around...

during the wedding i actually didn't freak out about the cake and guestbook, i only felt disappointed (not freaked out) afterwards...but despite all the regrets, you can always make lemonade outta lemons...

my photographer told me she would make my cake pics black and white and also the guestbook, i'm going to try to make a scrapbook ......so things always have a solution!!

not really.. i enjoyed it thoroughly and i also stressed out about it.. experienced the highs and lows.. so now i'm excitied about the new beginnings with DH.. cooking.. waking up next to him.. since we both lived away from each other and saw each other once a month at most.. this is more exciting that planning..
