I was at jenny Yoo on friday trying on BM dresses with my girls the lovely girl that was helping me was kind enough to give me a ticket to this Wedding Workshop on March 1st in Manhattan. She said the tickets are usually $75 for the first ticket and $50 for any extra tickets. She gave me the ticket for free and I begged her for an extra for my mom ! I was wondering if anyone has heard of this workshop or is even going?

Re: Wedding Workshop?
That's so cool that you got free tix! I saw this event on Daily Candy last week and bought my tix online (www.nyweddingworkshop.com). My friend used the planner who is running the event and really loved her, so when I saw this I was psyched. I am not using a planner for my wedding and I am sort of planning in a hurry, so if I can get advice from her for the price of a ticket, that works for me.
Also, I've been looking around on some of the other blogs to see more about the event and I saw that the top raffle prize is a wedding cake from April Reed for $3000!!!!! I didn't get my cake yet, so that works for me.
I've never been to something with a panel discussion before - anyone know about this?

There have been several similar posts on this site promoting this workshop thing. Not saying that it's not real but another person with a different name also with only 2-3 posts posted the EXACT same thing as amyweds08 on the BHB board... sounds sketchy to me. Just FYI

Re: Wedding Workshop?
Yikes everyone. I guess I didn't realize that I needed to tell you more about my credentials for posting before I commented on something. I am new to LI Weddings but have been on TheKnot and WeddingBee since I got engaged in December. I mostly read and do not post, but I am going to this event and wanted to tell you why since it didn't seem like too many people had heard about it. I have posted on a few other topics as well, but I will most certainly proceed with caution so as not to be scolded in the future. It seems to me that the only way to get to 23,000 posts is to start with 1.
Utterhappiness - I hope I'll meet you on Saturday.

And yes, to get to 23k posts you do need to start with 1-that 1 is usually introducing yourself
Sorry 09ers
Utterhappiness I hope that you have fun at this workshop!

Re: Wedding Workshop?
This is becoming silly and I don't have any idea what that link is for. That event was in 2004... anyway, I was just hoping to share some ideas and thoughts, not defend my posting technique, but I am going to sign off of this thread and this board.
