I am looking to possibly have another wedding ceremony for 'family related issues' but of course I really need to keep the cost down.
Anyone know of a place where I can have a small intimate wedding about 50-75 people- during the day for under $50 a plate?
I don't want a traditional hall again, maybe a small pavilion (I think the one at Snapper Inn has a min of 90 people), or an old mansion.

maybe you can try HR Singletons in Bethpage? An old friend of mine whos mother got remarried recently had their reception there

why don't you look into restaurants by your house and see what they can offer... you already know the food is good there and you can have a small party and keep the cost down !!

You can also try VFW's! I know seaford has a really beautiful one right off of Merrick road that my FBIL had his wedding. Or you can try American Legion Halls.

My suggestion exactly. They could give you a private room or if you have enough people, they could give you the entire restaurant. Sunday will probably be cheaper than Saturday.

try Corbin & Reynolds in Long Beach...we had our christmas party for work there...the food is amazing and the prices are fair!

Antun's in Hicksville. It's not as elegant as the RHs you see people on here having, but its definatly the cheapest. They have buffets or sit down dinners for as low as 40 pp. Good luck!
I was offered $55 at CLM for a friday night in the winter...Swan club too

I think Plattedeutsche is in that price range (and looks like fun) also miller place beach club. I saw a polish catering hall in Riverhead that looked inexpensive. I also bet if you did something ethnic it could work...I think there are some indian catering places...maybe in Huntington. I am obsessed with affordable ethnic weddings!

riverview in oakdale has a nice restaurant, but not sure how much.... I think their back party room is $30.00 a person, but not sure how many people it can hold...

could you possibly go into it as a 'family party' instead of calling it another wedding reception? halls charge an arm and a leg more for weddings, so perhaps you can find a nice small hall that would have a multi-course menu?

Most showers are well under 50 so perhaps you could do a 'luncheon' type thing at a nice resturant and kind of have the same the format as a shower? (does this make sense? lol) HTH
