**** Wedensday QOTD *****

As some of you may know, I´m currently not working and couldn´t apply to a job because of the trip we made end of last year and the one coming up for the wedding. Lately I´ve been going crazy and can´t wait to get back to working a regular job!! People think I´m crazy because they would love to not work. In some ways I like not working a regular job but since money is so tight right now because of the wedding, I really want the extra income!! I got into a whole discussion recently about that which leads me to my question . . .

Do you think you could ever be stay-at-home wife/mom? Or would you be too bored and need to work? What about FH? If it needed to come down to one of you staying at home which would it be?

I am in the same situation as you right now. I am also not working, and while I thought of maybe just not ever going back, I am extremely bored!!

I think I am going to go back for now, then stay home after the kiddies come. Then I will have something to do! I don't think I could be a stay at home wife, but i think I could be a stay at home mom...

I dont think I could ever be a stay at home wife. I could do part time though- maybe 3-4 days a week. If it did come down to one of us- I do think it would be me though. FH could never stay home permanently.

i think the my ideal situation would be to work some kind of flex time/part time. I would love to work 3 days a week, i think the mental stimulation is good and having adults to communicate with during the day is good for me. but being an accountant and working really hard for my CPA, at times my schedule stinks and I know i am going to feel guilty when i am a mother, but there is nothing i can really do, i left public accounting years ago so this is as good as it gets. wroking part time or flextime would give me the perfect balance but is not likely in my case.

I could totally be a stay at home wife/mom-I don’t think I’d be bored at all-there’d be too much to do. But, unfortunately, financially it would be impossible-unless we win the lotto.

FH and I just talked about this actually. I would love to be a stay at home mom but while at home I would have to have some sort of business out of my house. Maybe wedding coordinating or something that I can pick and choose my time, etc. Unless it was a matter of life or death (i.e. only I had family health insurance) FH would not be a stay at home dad, but if he had to be, he would need to have an at home business or be some sort of a consultant

I would never be able to stay home. I would just go bananas!
FH would def be a stay at home dad in a heart beat. he will be good at it
wish we will be able to afford that when the time comes

I plan on still working, at least part time when we have children. My workplace has an onsite daycare which is also a major factor in me wanting to work because I would have my children close enough to see them during the day. My sis was a stay at home mom and I don't know if I could do it. She said she loves it but some days, she feels lonely. As of right now, I want to continue to work but everyone says once I have a child, my opinion might change. FH says all the time if it was possible, he would love to be a stay at home dad but in terms of salaries, there is no way my salary would compare to what he is making.

I would love it to be a stay at home mom. I want to stay home when they are babies, and go back to work once they are in school. Once they are in school, I would get bored I think. I would also be open to working part time while they babies for extra cash, and I'm sure it'd be good to get out and work. I've been working since high school (14 years old), and think I would probably get bored not working.

I'd need a hobby or something to be around adults and take a break!

Dino would stay home to raise the kids, but most likely it will be me staying home. I want it that way.

I would like an at home business too. With all this wedding planning, I've been thinking it would be great to get into this industry. I'm not sure what though! But it would be awesome. I'd love to do something at home.

FH makes a lot more $$ so that would probably be a large reason why I would be a stay-at-home mom if we really needed but that's not something I would want to do - I work in politics so while the $ isn't that great - it's still an amazing job.

I think when we have kids I would rather work during the time they prob wont remember (early years) so I can spend more time with them when they're older...

I could never stay at home. I'd at least need to volunteer somewhere. Unless I was working from home, I'd feel way unproductive.

That's also because we don't want kids. At least not yet! Being a stay at home mom is a heck of a lot more than a full-time job and I'm sure I'd feel differently.

But staying at home just because I could? Ehh...I couldn't do it.

i would do it in a heartbeat... as long as we were able to afford it on Shauns salary alone...

I most likely will be a stay at home Mom and we have discussed this and agreed on it (actually FH wants me to stay at home to raise out children). FH works on oil tankers for a living so he is home for 3 weeks then away for 3 weeks - so it would be very difficult for us to raise a child with me still holding my full time job in NYC. Luckily his salary will be able to support both of us once we have child. Although - my company has recently started a program for working mothers to also work part time at home - so hopefully I will be able to do that to make some extra cash instead!

I could never stay at home. I get WAY too antsy. FH always said that he could stay home, but he has been out of work for a month and it is already driving him crazy!

In my head, I would love to be a stay at home mom, but in reality, I know I never could. I would get way too bored way too fast. If I had my choice, I would love to run my own business from home (which I'm in the process of starting). That way I'm still working, but get to stay home and be on my own schedule.

Im also currently not working and even though I love the cooking and baking I would love to go back to work.......However I think I would want to be home with my children, Id possibly get a part time job for a few hours to keep me busy and have extra money coming in (if I decided to be a stay at home mom/wife)

I would be a stay at home mom. But I would probably do some per diem work or teach dance classes on the side.
