Goodmorning ladies hopefully everyone has some time off today to enjoy the holiday!
Today's question is why did you ladies pick the dates you did? Do any of you wedding dates have meaning(anniversary, birthday) or did you just use dates that your RH had open.
NWR what are you ladies doing to celebrate the 4th?
I had originally wanted a December wedding but when talking to FH friend who works at our RH we decided on November 1st since it was the first day of their off season pricing but it's two days before daylight savings so we get an extra hr of light for pictures which is good considering we are doing a Friday night!
I'm on my way back to long island right now hate leaving Pennsylvania its so gorgeous here. Will be unpacking and stuff then going to FH friends BBQ!
Hope everyone has a fun day!

Wednesday July 4th question of the day
WR: I knew I wanted a summer wedding because I get cold if it drops below 70 degrees lol. We were going to do a Friday, but someone else I knew was doing a July 3 (this year though) and said she got a great deal because it was a weekday. We figured doing a weeknight before a holiday when most everyone has off was the same as doing a Friday when most everyone is off Saturdays. Plus it did save us $$$
NWR: We're having some friends over for a BBQ, nothing crazy, we all have to work tomorrow. I heard it might rain, so I'm hoping the weather holds out.
Have a safe and fun 4th, ladies!

Wednesday July 4th question of the day
We wanted to get married on the 17th...the month didn't matter but we wanted a day wedding because neither of us believe in the late night thing. 17 was my best friends jersey # and he was killed when were 15 but the # has always brought me luck since then..my fh address is 17 and his badge # starts and ends with 17.
For the 4th he is working and I have declined all bbq invites to hopefully do as little as possible..lol

Wednesday July 4th question of the day
FH wanted sunflowers, so October seemed the natural choice. I didn't want to do the summer even though I'm a teacher and it would have been easier. I have no desire to be hot and sweaty lol. Plus, ours is the day before Columbus Day, so a lot of people will have off.
We are actually getting ready to head to Coney Island for the day. We've never been, so it should be fun.

Wednesday July 4th question of the day
We picked a Friday to save some $$. March worked out because I want a little snow, I think winter weddings are really romantic, and it didn't interfere with any major holidays or birthdays.
I'm hanging out at lake Ontario for the day. Poor FH is working!

Wednesday July 4th question of the day
We picked a Friday, not to save money. Everyone in my family was like 'Why didn't you pick a Saturday??' but I had been to my friend's wedding a few years ago and it was on a Friday & it was just awesome to me! You had the whole weekend to relax after... I think Fridays are just so much more fun, so I always knew I'd pick that day of the week haha. As for the month... we were originally going with September 20th, 2013, because I wanted an autumn themed wedding and I wanted to avoid the Summer as much as possible. Well, on September 20th, 2011 I kept an eye out for how long the sun was out and it wasn't very long so I had a change of mind & went with May 31st, 2013 instead. I figure it shouldn't be TOO hot and the sun will be out longer for pictures & we should get an awesome sunset during cocktail hour.
As for today, my fiance' is coming over and we're having a bbq with my family. Nothing crazy!

Wednesday July 4th question of the day
WR- We choose the month because we knew we wanted to get married in the summer. We choose the date because I liked dates that were cool so we went with 7/27.
NWR- We are not doing anything today. The 4th of July is a hard day for us. FH was in Iraq and fireworks sound like mortars and it gives him anxiety and brings him back to memories hes trying to forget.

Re: Wednesday July 4th question of the day
It's so interesting hearing the logic behind these wedding dates - great question.
FH and I immediately knew we wanted the spring. I'm always happiest in the spring (love the season) before it gets too hot. Also, we both can't stand the heat of winter or super cold winters. Fall was an option for a while, but we kept gravitating towards the spring.
The day - My birthday is April, Fh's is June so with a May wedding we looked for a date that was halfway inbetween. Friday night chosen on purpose for costs and to have the whole weekend ahead of us.
NWR: I'm working a little bit this morning then heading out with friends until FH catch ups, when he gets off work at 5 p.m.
We're hoping to go watch local fireworks and do some fire spinning.

Haha woo!! Now I need to know what the farmer's almanac says about 5/31/13!
A sunset wedding would be perfect in September!!

Wednesday July 4th question of the day
I always said I wanted a Spring or Fall wedding if I ever got married. FH and I quickly decided we wanted Fall instead and we chose Oct. We are hoping it won't be too hot or too cold. We originally wanted 10/5 which is a Sat. We got engaged in Vegas on 6/5 so we thought it would be cute to keep the 5 date going but we quickly realized Sat nights are so expensive so we switched to a Sun 10/6. I was a lil bummed about the date change at 1st but with the $$ saved I am happy with out choice. Plus I say in NY time we got engaged on 6/6
Today we aren't up to much. We slept in and are just relaxing at home now.

Re: Wednesday July 4th question of the day
FH and I hadn't really decided on a date before we started looking at RHs but as the search continued and the 4th of July weekend 2013 was continually available, I began falling more and more in love it. For me I've always enjoyed fireworks. That's a lie, I actually hated them and was terrified of them when I was younger but as I grew older I began to appreciate the romance of fireworks. When FH and I started dating I wasn't sure if I wanted to be in a long term relationship as I'd been in a couple that ended poorly and finally was enjoying being single. Two weeks after we went on our first date FH drove me home from the movies and after sitting in the car outside my house for an hour or so talking he said 'goodnight, love you...' which left me stunned and slinking, frightened out of his car. I ran inside and immediately called my best friend while FH texted me 'I'm sorry, that was weird, I didn't mean it that way...' I decided to hang in there and give him a chance, even though he sorta freaked me out. Within a month or so I decided that I had in fact fallen, quite hard, for him, but wanted to let him know in a special way since it was a big deal for me. July 4th was going to be it, with the fireworks I was feeling for him exploding above us. First we went to my cousin's house where he hoisted my goddaugher onto his shoulders for the fireworks show but unfortunately that year it rained so it wasn't as spectacular as I pictured it and I waited. Then we went to his friend's house where they were setting off fireworks in the street, one of which came flying toward the nearby crowd almost hitting someone. That wasn't very romantic so I waited. We came back to my house where we laid in bed and I proceeded to stare at him while he was falling asleep, waiting for the perfect time to say those three words, periodically clearing my throat so I wouldn't croak them out. That had to last about a half hour until I finally took a deep breath and was ready. Just as I did, FH opened his eyes and very calmly and sweetly kissed me and said 'I love you.' ARG! He totally stole my thunder....and my heart! We are getting married July 5th, 2013. Now that I think of it, it was probably after midnight when this whole thing went down. :o)
As for plans, FH is at work right now. I'll head to his house a little later and we'll bounce to a few BBQs. This time next year we will be preparing to say I DO!!!

Wednesday July 4th question of the day
We were going to go with May 18 because we started dating March 18 and thought it be cute to keep the 18th. But after getting pricing we realized it was to expensive. So we then decided to go with the end of March and March 23 was the Sat after the 18th so we just went with that. Today I hung out in my parents pool with my sister and later were going to FH's DJ boss's housewarming/4th of July party.

Re: Wednesday July 4th question of the day
WR: I really wanted October because the 11th is our anniversary and I love the fall (the best weather in my opinion for a wedding!) I wanted Saturday the 12th but my church couldn't let us book a time in October due to confirmations. I was a little bummed but we settled for Sept 21 which is the very last day of summer.
NWR: today we laid on the beach with some friends. This weekend is when BBQs are going down.
