Today's question is......

Who was the first person you told that we were engaged, and how did you tell them??

We told two people at once! We told my dad and my grandma. They were so excited!!! We just told them we had to talk to them and then I showed them my ring. They knew it was only a matter of time, but my grandma started screaming! It was a great!!

We were in international waters... so we told our room attendant first because he was just the coolest guy ever! Then we told just about everyone, except friends and family since we were in international waters.

When we got home... it was his parents (because we saw them first) and then my dad/brother... and then my mom (who was pissssssssed! because my dad told her! JERK!)

My mom!

I called my mom very calmly like 'mom... guess what...' and then screamed 'we got engaged!' lol

two of our friends knew first since they were with with them we then told my parents then his. our friends found out from facebook when we changed out status

The first person I told was my mom...I wanted it to be my dad- but he wouldnt pick up the phone! (we were calling from a pay phone in Italy)- he didn't recognize the odd number, lol.....then my mom wouldn't pick up either- so I left her a voicemail saying 'pick up the phone if you see a weird number'...and she finally did

I called my sister and SCREAMED into the phone! The I called my mom who was at my great aunt and uncle's 50th anniversary party, she told my grandmother and other people at the table, and apparently when all of the toasts were done, my grandmother was like 'I have a toast' and made everyone at the party toast our engagement!

Everyone already knew but me!!! So basically no one.. but the first ones to know other then the people who already did (our families) -- was my best friends!

My mom. She was so excited to hear the news --- unfortunately we had the hardest time getting in touch with FILs. No one was answering the house or cell phones and we didn't get to tell them until a couple hours later.

My brother and sister were there when it happened, so that was really cool.

I called my parents immediately and my little sister picked up and I said, 'J, I'm engaged!' and she responded 'coooool' but not sounding impressed which is weird for a 10 yr old, so I said, 'did you know??' 'yeaaaaa'

LOL!

As did my parents, and his dad and his brother and SIL, and aunts, uncles, cousins, my moms friends.

EVERYONE KNEW! the only people I got to surprise was my college friends.

The first person we told was my mom and we called her...she knew when FH was going to do it and wanted us to call her right after!

I told a stranger standing next to me. LOL! FH proposed in front of the tree in Rockefeller Center and I tried calling my mom and dad but I was crying so much that I couldn't hold the phone still so I told a woman that was standing there with her man not sure and she was sooo happy and congratulated me and hugged me.

my mother

me and FH actually got into a fight before we met up and he popped the question and i had called my mom to vent. she actually told me not to meet up with him and stay home and relax. my father was the one to tell me 'just go and have fun' 30 mins after that phone call i called her back and just said 'mom - IM ENGAGED!' and then she screamed and we were both on the phone in shock crying lol

I called my grandparents first and then my mom. I knew that my mom knew since FH got my ring at the store that she works at.

Apparently my grandparents knew also because he asked them for permission as well when we went to visit them in Florida two months before the engagement.

Then I posted it on Facebook and told everyone that I would talk to them the next day. I wanted to be able to enjoy the night with FH, FBIL, FSIL and my sister.
