Wedsafe Wedding Insurance

Has anyone used Wedsafe for wedding insurance, and have any feedback, good or bad?

I am definitely going to get wedding insurance but I'm not exactly sure with all the different levels that they offer. I am assuming that you pick the level that has the closest cost for each of the vendors? It's kind of confusing!

FH contemplated getting it, but in the end, decided against it. We both felt like each of the covered 'disasters' could be worked around.

Are you considering it because your a December bride or just in general?

My Mom was freaking out because I'm getting married on NYE and last new year's there was an ice storm

We ultimately decided against it because December tends to be one of the safer winter months in terms of snow and ice. Watch I just jinxed us

... but I recall our hall manager saying that it needs to be a state declared emergency for the insurance to take effect. Totally not sure if that's the case though

Weather is actually the least of my worries...though it did snow, this past December 5th. I'm more concerned with having it because god forbid something should happen to a vendor where they do not show up, cardbox is stolen, wedding needs to be canceled or postponed at the last minute....which could happen, because god forbid, but we do have a LOT of elderly family members. I feel for us it's a necessity...but the levels are clearly not based on NY weddings, because my 'total wedding budget' only allows for 2k in coverage for photo/video, 35k in cancellation postponement, 2k in gifts, etc. for a premium of like 275. In order to even recoup my photo/video expenses god forbid, I'd have to go up to the budget of 75k for the wedding (totally not our budget) and that premium is 575!!!!!

So it's like what's better...shelling out the big bucks to ensure you're completely covered, or hedge your bets and figure some back is better than none at all?

Hmmmm not sure what to suggest for you.

When you look at the worst case scenario $575 isn't that much to make sure you are fully covered, but do you want to go ahead an put down that $575 now? I feel like when you're in the midst of planning you can find PLENTY of other ways to spend that $575 and be guaranteed to see some kind of return on your investment. That's what makes this a tricky decision...

Aside from a horrible snow storm or a family member passing away, I'm not sure I would purchase the insurance for any other reason. Again I don't want to jinx myself (knocking on wood!) but the chances of anything else occurring from the list you mentioned isn't that good AND probably isn't worth putting the $575 down.

When do you have until for you to purchase it? Is it possible to wait until the LAST minute to get a better idea of the health of your family members?

I don't think they would cover it if the cardbox was stolen. I think I saw in the fine print that they cover stolen 'gifts' not monetary gifts.
