Hi we are thinking of not going on a honeymoon, we are in the process of buying a home, we rather furnish the house :)--does anyone have any suggestions on places we could go for a couple of days after the wedding in driving distance?? Thanks so much!!!! :)
The Poconos has those Honeymoon places I think its Pocono Palace or Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun. Or you can go to the opposite end to Montauk or Block Island. You can try the Norwich Spa in Connecticut. Its beautiful and its 20 minutes from Foxwood.

Hi! Well,Im not sure what you mean by 'driving distance'..this is alittle bit of a road trip, but if you want the most romantic B and B around, go to Rabbit Hill Inn in Vermont. We make the drive quite a bit ( and we live wayyy out east on LI by the Hamptons), and it is well worth the drive...trust me. This is mine and my Fh most 'special' place. We travel a LOT, and we have probably been to over 50 B and Bs, and no place compares to this place. The rooms are gorgeous(with fireplaces and jacuzzis), the staff is wonderful, and best of all, they have their own little restaruant/bar in the B and B..so you dont even have to leave for dinner...and you wont want to! The food is the most incredible food you have ever tasted...there is usually a harp player playing and they have a great fireplace. Very VERY romantic. As i said, i mentioned this place to my best friend, and this is th eonly place she will go to now. Check it out..I think it is rabbithillinn.com. They do book up quick, because there are not a lot of rooms, but good luck! Let me know how you make out!
We're thinking of going away for a weekend this spring to this place called the Locust Inn up near Lake George. It looks absolutely beautiful, and their prices are relatively reasonable (they're giving us a discount because it's off season, but if you book enough in advance I saw some decent prices for them on hotels.com as well)
What about the vineyards or Montauk? It can be very romantic!
FH and I are going to Newport, RI (~4 hours drive, less if you take the ferry). They have these besutiful cottages up there - really look like mansions from the Vanderbuilt era. We're staying there for 2 nights, 3 days.
