Weekend Getaway

FH and I would like to plan a little weekend gettaway just to relax and get our mind off of everything that is making us stressed out.

Does anybody have any ideas where we could go? We only want to go for about 3 days.

We're big theme park people...why not do Hershey Park & Dorney Park. They are in two different parts of PA -but they just did a new part of Hershey - it's called the boardwalk... FH & I were there not long ago and had sooooooooooooooooo much fun!!!! It's a waterpark inside the park...

Did I forget to mention that we really dont want to spend too much money, lol So anyplace with expensive airfare is out. Plus I dont know how much it pays to fly somewhere if we are only staying 3 days.

How is the new Boardwalk in Hershey? I was there a few years ago so I guess its new since then.

Yes - it's new this year!!! It's WONDERFUL. They pipe in the sounds of seagulls and waves. They have a wave pool - they have a cute little roller coaster and when you're on it - people on the ground can shoot water cannons at you...my FH & I stayed there shooting people for like 20 minutes..

Best part of Hershey & Dorney....my FH & I do this all the time....they have twilight admission. The park closes at 5 or 6 and you enter then for half price....the park is usually open until 11 or 12...which is PLENTY of time...

that sounds perfect for what we are looking for.

Can you recommend a place to stay?

Is there restaurants near by?

they just came out wiht the boardwalk...its a waterpark within the park....fun! FH has family that lives right in the area near hershey and they have been there a few times and had a great time. You can even stay down by the outlets...only 40 minute drive to hershey and the other days you can spend in amish country....just keep in mind amish country is closed on sunday...my rec would be to do amish on friday, hershey on saturday and outlets on sunday......It is cheap to stay at a bed and breakfast near the outlets[L=http://www.800padutch.com/intercourse.shtml]

You can have a lot of fund down there and it is not that expensive....3 1/2 hour drive....3 if you speed haha.....fh and I are down there once a month to visit his dad, brother and family

I stayed in a cabin on the lake. The Sagamore in Bolton Landing is beautiful and about 5minutes from the village of lake george. There is so much to do around there. Restauranyts on the water, cute little shops. Outlets are about 10 minutes away. Water park, mini golf...I loved going there. Click the link below

Not at all. Once in the village everything is in walking distance. Very simple and fun!!! Really good pancake cottage too for breakfast

FH and I went over a list of places to go last weekend. We ended up going to Boston and had a great time.

But here's a list of places you can go:

1. Boston
2. Lake George
3. Canada/Niagra Falls
4. Washington D.C
5. Philadelphia
6. Mystic, Connecticut
7. Virginia Beach
8. Baltimore
9. Dorney Park or Hershey

These are all idea that ran through our heads and it was really hard trying to come up with a decision, so good luck!!

We went to Boston Saturday and stayed one night. The hotel we stayed at was 115 a night and it was 15 minutes outside of Boston. I saw a different hotel 30 minutes away from Boston and it was only 80 a night. There's a lot of free and cheap stuff to do in Boston. We didnt spend all that much.

No problem. Thats why it took us until Midnight on friday to make a decision to where we would go. From Queens it took about 4 1/2 hours with Mapquest's directions. Coming back we hit a lot of traffic and it took almost 6 hrs. Oh if you go to Boston, Salem is 30 minutes away.
