Fh is working so hard and is really needing a much warranted vacation. I wanted to surprise him with a nice relaxing weekend. 8/17 I thought of going to Niagra falls but that is so much driving for him in a car. I need suggestions .Got any with not to much driving ideas??

How about the Poconos? I could even help you out with the $$$ as I'm selling a one night stay. It's good for any of their locations and you can chose any room accomodation. Good thing is you stay at one but can visit/play all.

Ocean City, MD, Virginia Beach (it's less time driving than Niagara Falls), Montauk, Cape May, Poconos, Hershey, PA are all that come to mind.

We always end up in AC.
You can do PA/Hershey. We did that once then hit the Tanger outlets in Lancaster on the way back.
There is a castle/hotel upstate (Mohawk..I think). Ive never been , but its supposed to be really nice.
Hmmm, what else is there...Poconos, Montauk, Foxwoods, Mohegan.
Oh, Baltimore is cool too.

newport RI.. from Valley stream is about 3 1/2 hours away. we stayed at the Hyatt on goat island which is beautiful, but there are other hotels (The hyatt is on the exp side - sesp in the summer). There is great stuff to do there like tours of mansions and the beautiful cliff walk, stores and shops!! Its perfect for 2 days or 3 days 2 nights
also, cape may NJ . We stayed at congress hall and that too is beautiful. they had the best comforters!!! haha.. anyway the beach is down the block from it, there are bars and resturants and all little shops and etc. also very nice for 2 days
this is perfect: i've done it a few times already. go to the tarrytown house estate(45 mins from nyc by car). tarrytown is so adorable. you can visit the wineries nearby (The Brotherhood Winery) was really nice. It is a fun, relaxing weekend that isnt too expensive. xoxo

The Brother hood Winery. FH used to work there. He lived 1 minute from it before he moved to Long Island to live with me.

everytime we want a quick weekend getaway, its to baltimore maryland -crabs! or atlantic city, or newport RI (wineries, clam chowder, mansions). Philadelphia is good for some authentic cheesesteaks as well.
