Weekly Spending Money

Do you give yourself 'set spending money' each week from your pay or do you just 'take as you need it?' If you give yourself a certain allowance ($150, $200, $300 per week), what do you usually spend it on?

Coffee/Breakfast/lunch?
Dining Out/Take Out?
Clothes Shopping?
Dry Cleaners?
Commuting Costs?
Grocery Shopping?
Pharmacy?
Gifts?

Or do you take separate money out for any of the above? I'm trying to create a budget and I'm trying to figure out what should come out of my weekly 'spending money' and what comes out of a different category.

I don't give myself a weekly spending budget because most of the things you listed are already accounted for in our monthly household budget like dry cleaning and grocery shopping.

I very rarely carry more than $20 cash with me. And that $20 covers me for breakfast and lunch for the week. I pay for everything with my bank card so that gas, pharmacy/drugstore stuff, take out, etc comes out itemized on my online banking reports. It's easier for me to track how much I'm spending on those things that way. But it varies greatly.

I have more of a monthly general spending budget rather than a weekly one because some weeks I hardly spend any money at all.

I usually use about $200-$250 per pay check( every two weeks) for things like gas, coffee, lunchs, newspapers, magazines, CVS stops , things like that.

gifts, and food store come out of seperate money.

I use our card for groceries and mall (when needed), and gas.
I set cash aside for laundry and if we want to grab dinner out.

I take $40/week and my husband is supposed to take $50 but I usually catching him taking $20/more-lol!
Our money is for gas, food and anything else we want to buy for ourselves or others.
