Weigh Watchers Here I come

Original post by TheLadyJ

I've been putting off losing weight for so long. Tomorrow morning FH and I go to Weight Watchers. Since last October I've gained 40 lbs and I need it ALL to come off.

I know what I am supposed to eat but somehow I just find myself lacking the motiviation to eat healthy. I'm hoping with the support of the group, FH doing it with me, and knowing that I am shelling out $$$ for it, I will finally get my butt in gear.

I've put of looking for dresses because I absilutely HATE being this heavy and refuse to even consider trying on dresses at this weight. With the wedding 51 weeks away, I NEED to finally just get with the program and stop putting it off.

Wish me luck ladies!!!

i have to say, weight watchrs happens to be the best thing out there. It teaches you to eat, but love what you eat. Let me tell you, i have hardly any junk in my diet because i do not like the way my body feels with it in it! I eat a yogurt and apple for lunch, shredded wheat for breakfast always greens for dinner. Yes, i have the occasional cake slice but come on what girl doesnt?

Everyone really seems to love ww though, you'll love it too, and you iwll definitely see that it helps you to make a lifestyle change not a diet :)

GOOD LUCK!!!! If you are eating out alot becasue of being on the road try the core plan....I think you might find it easier when you travel.

I'm doing core - and absolutely love it. It helps me eat a bit more than doing the points. WW is so great - it really taught me how to eat right and to think before I chew! :) Let me know if you have any questions!!

Also - look up where all Applebee's locations are - I feel like thats the kind of place one sees when on the road. You'd be able to eat off the Weight Watchers menu if you go there!

I think on the road it comes down to self control. It's very easy to get a piece of grilled or roasted chicken with plain veggies and a baked potato. What is NOT easy is seeing your favorite foods on the menu (ravioli, chicken & penne carbonara, french fries, etc), and NOT ordering them.

The good thing about this trip is that I will be walking around the forest for 10 hours a day. So, I should earn myself a couple of points based on my activity level. But, I have to limit my water intake, because I'm the only girl in the group and well, I don't want to have to pee in the forest. Men have it so easy. So, I usually rely on starbursts or gum when I get thirsty.

I go the Massapequa (across from Sunrise Mall) WW on Sundays. Obviously I will not be there this week because of my friend's wedding. But I really hope FH goes without me.

I need to go too. I lost about 25 pounds a few years ago on it but gained it back over the last 4 years FH and I have been together. Does anyone go around Selden/Centereach/Port Jeff area? I could def use someone to do it with (to make me go when I don't want to) and FH says he'll do it and then does it for like 2 days and stops!!!

WW is great..I am a lifetime member, last year I did it again and lost 14lbs. I'm going to start again next week..although it is the best for losing weight you really have to stick to good eating habits to keep it off.

Here are some things I have found through my years of doing WW that might help:

Fiber One cereal is great. It's like no points and really fills you up. I have it for breakfast every day with a cup of milk. But I don't put the milk in the bowl because it gets too soggy.

Cut out the Diet Coke..big no, no. All studies have shown that diet coke creates obesity. I believe it when I cut out the diet coke, most of my cravings also go away.

use etools. I put all my recipes in etools and rework them a little with fat free cheese, turkey meat, etc and can eat them while calculating the correct points.

If anyone wants to exchange recipes I have some good ones that I have calculated through etools.

good luck everyone.
