Weight Gain

So, i'm three months away and I feel like I look my absolute worst!!! I don' t know if it's the holidays or the weather or what but I have been eating like a pig, not excercising and i've been gaining weight. I have my first fitting on the 11th! Am I out of my mind?!!!!! I think it's time to make a new years resolution I can stick to!!! I'm gonna cry

Re: Weight Gain

Oh no!

If you want some little things that might help without a major overall heres my advice:

Drink LOTS of water. Among other great things it will help fill you up a bit and might distract from the munching.

Stock up on fruits and veggies...baby carrots and grapes are my favs for snacking. If you feel like snacking try reaching for those instead.

Good luck and youre going to look beautiful in your dress no matter what!!!

Re: Weight Gain

Don't worry girl! Get on a clean high protein diet and you can defiantly drop a few lbs before your first fitting. Don't forget to drink lots of water too! aprox 8-10 8oz glasses a day

Re: Weight Gain

I know it's hard I haven't exercised in a couple weeks either bc I've been sick with Bronchitis, and I still have a bad cough. You will get back on track, just set up a game plan!!

Re: Weight Gain

It's only natural that with all the stress of the wedding planning, not to mention the holidays, that you might gain weight! I *definitely* gained weight before the wedding. I had my first fitting 2 months to the wedding and it was terrible. The dress fit but it was tight and I looked like a friggin whale. I went home that night and cried my eyes out! But it was also the kick in the asss I needed to get my act together and lose the weight. So I started keeping track of my calorie intake on www.thedailyplate.com. I cut out all sugary drinks and drank tons of water. I didn't really exercise other than taking walks on my lunch break or walking to a further train station than I normally would or taking the stairs instead of the escalator. I lost 25 lbs! I didn't even know I had that much on me to lose! I won't say it was easy, but it wasn't so bad and I have never felt more confident than I did then. Since then, I've gained it all back, but all that really matters is I rocked that wedding dress. lol!

So, don't freak out yet! You still have time!

ETA: The best advice is to cut out sugary drinks. I was floored by the amount of empty calories in those things!

I feel the same as you! Make it your resolution to go back to the gym next week. Find a new gym class or a new exercise hobby and a buddy to go with! go straight from work, before you go home!

Re: Weight Gain

Thank you all so much for the words of encouragement. It's a big help. yoga is a kind of exercise that I enjoy and seems to work well so i'm going to try to make myself do it at least 3 x/week. I really also need to cut out the sweets...I can eat like 20 cookies in a day, no joke. I just can't have them in my apartment!!

Thanks again xoxo
