weight gain

weight gain

I know I am supposed to be above this. I am supposed to have dropped all sense of vanity - I KNOW and I feel so badly for feeling this EVER....

But I hit the 20 lb mark today....

I am so depressed! (it's funny that the emote used above is called 'forlorn' - that is how I feel...)

I know it's fine - it's for the baby, etc. and I know the chocolate pudding isnt' helping any but I am so freaking hungry after a 'healthy' sandwich I could eat my own shoes.

20 lbs. I don't start my 7th month for another 10 days. I have a feeling this is going to start to get very ugly......

jenny, although I've never been pregnant, I'm sure it's normal for you to feel that way..

but let me tell you this.. with your permission, I intend to print out the pic of you that you posted in your kini, and the other one you posted wiht your wittle belly and that's going to be my inspiration!! You are a beautiful woman and I hope to look like you when my time comes!!

Re: weight gain

Jenny I gained 30 lbs. while I was PG, so I understand (see my own post about my weight troubles).

However, chances are that as your little girl really starts to grow, your appetite will decrease b/c your stomach will literally get squished! So, look on the bright side - you are helping your child grow strong and healthy!

Re: weight gain

aw thanks guys... I know there is a bright side. I just worked so hard for so long to maintain weight, and just seeing two pounds EVERY week is starting to get a little disconcerting.

I know it's just numbers. And I know my baby is in there thanking me. She's a girl after all..she knows how hard this is!!!

girl, I know EXACTLY what you mean.. I'm trying to work myself 4 x harder at the gym so that my body can bounce back, you know? but you sound like one of the luckier ones as far as the weight gain is concerned..

What was it 2 weeks ago I saw you and you were gawjus, I can imagine how beautiful 20 pounds look on you probably even more gawjus. You are a beautiful woman and I know after your pregnancy you will still be beautiful. Feel however you have to feel it is your right. That is still one of my major concerns about getting preggo, I know vain, but I am the one that has to live with my body.

Chin up its all for a worthy cause

Re: weight gain

For me, I gained more weight early on (in the first 6 months) than I did in the end. I definitely didnt gain a pound a week in the last month or so. In fact, at the very end you tend to lose weight. But it is one of those things preggos go through, the acceptance of the weight gain not as a result of overeating/lack of exercise pounds but baby pounds. Even though you intellectually know it's the baby, your mind can still play tricks on you. Those feelings pass, at least in my experience they do.

You certainly looked terrific to me in the pics I've seen. Be gentle with yourself, you are doing great!

Re: weight gain

I know what you mean!! I was never the type to fret and worry about my weight because I never had a problem losing the extra pounds and keeping in shape. But now I'm really starting to stress about it!! Last month my doctor lectured me because I gained 6 lbs instead of 3. That makes it almost 15 lbs. already and I'm only at 23 weeks!!

Re: weight gain

that is what i was at 23 weeks. now i am 20! at 25 weeks! it's just piling on!!!

But I can't stop it. I am SO hungry. I have never experienced this kind of appetite. I mean I am not sitting here eating bags of chips and bowls of ice cream...but I am definitely eating my sandwich and whoever has any of theirs left over a half hour later...

I need a piggy icon...Fast.

Yes, I do feel your pain! I hate stepping on that scale every month! Yup... I've gained about 20lbs too. I'm trying really hard not to care about numbers and focus on being healthy for the two of us.

I know how you feel and then some... I've gained over 20lbs., and I'm in week 26! It was over 20lbs. weeks ago and I'm not eating that much. But it's ok... it's all for the little one!

Re: weight gain

I know exactly how you feel. You are gaining the right weight for the right reasons, but I know that scale time is still stressful.

I just don't look.

Re: weight gain

Jenny, my heart literally hurts for you because I know exactly how you feel. I won't sugar coat either, I don't care if it is for the baby, I still hate every single pound! I know that sounds terrible - but it is really hard to see the scale creep up, really hard. Hang in there girl, we all understand.
