weight loss

Does anyone know of any good weight loss techniques/diets? I have only three months to the wedding and I'm no where near the weight I wanted to be at Also, does anyone have any idea of how to tone up your arms (esp. triceps - I HATE them!) Thanks ladies

Re: weight loss

It's all about the tricep ropes. Here are some pics of how to use them.

Re: weight loss

I've been doing Weight Watchers since practically forever and I just reached my goal losing a total of 42 pounds. Granted that took over a year, but if you were to join now and REALLY stick with it strictly you could probably lose between 10 and 20 before your wedding!

Re: weight loss

South Beach Diet is good, if you can stick with it. It gives you a daily menu for 6 wks worth of meals but once you know the basics you can mix and match. Stay on the first phase longer than the recommended 2 wks if you really want to lost weight. It works, but it's tough, and some of the weight comes back afterwards. good luck!

Re: weight loss

South Beach Diet!!!!!!! I went on this 6 weeks before the wedding and lost 20 pounds! Phase 1 is strict! (and I didn't cheat) However, you are only to stay on that for 2 weeks, any more than that and you can harm your body. I lost 12 pounds in the first 2 weeks, then 8 after that. Also, my doctors cut me down to 1300 calories per day on that diet. So, it was a combination of them both.

Re: weight loss

try working out and eating less - buy some hand weights. honestly - it took me awhile to figure this out, but all you need is 20 min a day of a good, hard workout.

Re: weight loss

i really recommend weight watchers- its not that difficult and a healthy way tolose weight. I started about 3 weeks ago and although i only lost 5 pounds (3.5 the first week) i don't follow it religiously. I try and do my best m-f (and i do go over my points) and on the weekends i don't follow it at all, so if you follow it strictly you will probably will lose much more. I plan on following it more strictly when i go back to the US as my mom and sister are going to do it with me and we will cook accordingly!

Good luck.

I used to do that also but my trainer said that oatmeal is fattening. I switched to a high-fiber, low-fat cereal and it keeps me just as satisfied if not more....good luck...I feel your struggle, believe me.

Re: weight loss

Also, the best thing is strength training (like a circuit or something like it) and lots of cardio along with it. The two seem to work wonders.

Re: weight loss

When I want to loose some weight I cook big pots of greens (collard greens, kale, spinach, escarole) with lean meat in it, and that all I eat with whole wheat pasta & prunes Drink TONS of water and just work out. It really works

I lost twenty pounds in 3 months by weight watchers. It doesn't work for everyone, but I'm certainly happy with the results.

Re: weight loss

I started Nutri System last week. It is expensive but my brother and his wife lost weight in a fairly short amount of time. I only have 34 days so I hope it reacts on me like it did them!!

I eat 1/2 serving of plain regular (not instant) oatmeal every single day for breakfast (with either a banana or a 1/2 scoop of flavored soy protien to sweeten it) and I think t does help curb your hunger until lunch with no snacking in between. Oats are good b/c they digest slowly due to their fiber content. They also make me feel good, unlike a high sugar or fat breakfast.

Regular plain oats are not fattening... the flavored ones have a high sugar content.
