I need help!! I have lost 40 pounds in a few years. I kept my motivation due to my wedding... now that the wedding is over.. I feel no motivation.
I am still about 18 pounds away from my goal weight. I am currently 'on' ww, but last week I gained and I think I will tomorrow too...
I am just so tired of watching every little thing that goes in my mouth!!I I do work out, I go to kickboxing ( missed 3x this week!, do the treadmill & go to curves) but when I work out, i rarely see the results on the scale.. if anything my inches go down, but very slowly.
I need something to look forward to, to keep me mmotivated...
thanks for listening..

Re: weight loss issues
I know what you mean! I wish I could offer some advice but I am doing awful lately with that. I have gained soooo much weight since the wedding which is really upsetting because I had lost 35lbs about 5 years ago and have now gained well over half of that back. I feel like I have no control over my eating and am too lazy to move.. I always tell myself I will start on Monday but that Monday never comes! I def think we should have a motivation thread!!!

Re: weight loss issues
Girls you can do it! Something that helps me is thinking about food and nutrition for being healthy not necessarily just losing weight. I know for a lot of people it helps to have something to look forward to (like the wedding) for me I just try to make it part of my lifestyle and it really has become that. I can't imagine not eating right or working out. The best advice I can give is to make it manageable. You can't diet forever (wise words from my nutritionist) so try to come up with foods and activities that you ENJOY so you don't feel bored or frustrated. I have battled with eating disorders/disordered eating since I was in college and though I am 'recovered' now, I still feel like it is VERY easy to beat myself up over a pound and fall back into old habits. Just remember that beaing healthy is what really matters and if for you that means being a bit lighter you can do it. You just have to find the style that works for you. That being said, I tried WW for a long time...it worked and then it failed. I started eating '0' point or'1' point foods like popcorn to fill up my days! (SO unhealthy!) Granted, I know this was MY issue and not the programs but it was just not the right fit for me.
I now work with a nutritionist and I track EVERYTHING. I am maintaining for now and my doctor has given me guidelines and ranges for the amount of protein, fat and carbs to eat in a day. I track everything and make sure my foods (whatever I chose) fit into those guidelines. I am able to eat foods I like as long as I can make them fit into my guidelines. After eating well for the past however long I find that I really don't eat junk anymore. I make my healthy foods fit. I love dessert and I love pretzels so if i want them i include them. Dessert to me is different than what it might be to others...I bake it myself so I know what is in it! I have some great healthy alternatives so if you would like any feel free to FM.
Nutrition to me is 90% of the equation. That is not to say that exercise isn't important. Again you have to find what works for you. I was a cardio slave. I am talking 4 spin classes a day to the point that I remember crying because I felt so out of control! Now, I stick to 3-4 twenty minute sessions and my workouts are mainly weight training instead. This has been how i have seen MY best results. Again, not for everyone!
You ladies can do this...just be smart and healthy and realize that food is fuel and your body needs it to be it's best...FM if you have any questions!
Sorry for the rant! I am very passionate about food, nutrition and fitness!

Re: weight loss issues
thanks lauren<3 With me though i am not sure whats going on. Going to see a nutritionist next week about a possible thyroid problem.
My diet consists of:
Apples yoghurts broiled fish or chicken and loads of veggies!
FH and I really do not eat junk food EVER because i have a bad belly and he is lactose intollerant. So, spices and heavy cheeses are always out for us
Do you have a nutritionistyou can reccomend or is she/hefar out in the island?

I am a big baker (and an even bigger dessert person!) so any recipes you could share would be greatly appreciated! I am a big chocolate person!
I think my biggest problem is when I was like 22-23 I developed as severe allergy to most raw fruits, nuts and vegetables. I can eat things cooked but I cannot eat things raw and more often than not the cooked version is the bad one. (ie: I cannot eat an apple but I can eat apple sauce, apple pie, apple juice, etc) It is so frustrating because I lost the weight the first time by eating things like carrots, apples and pears on a daily basis and now I cannot eat any of these things! There are maybe 3-4 fruits and veggies I know I like and am not allergic to and eating the same thing over and over can get boring FAST! This whole thing makes it a lot harder to be healthy and I find that so frustrating too.
