Re: Weight Watcher Girls??

I've done both. For awhile in college, I only did online and I seem to do better going to the meetings. I need the accountability of going to an official weigh-in and like the support of the group.
However, I do know people that have had success with online alone.

I was going to mention that...when you do it on your own and are not going for weekly weigh-ins, I don't know how successful you could be. Unless you are REALLY good I do Jenny Craig and this past month I have been beyond busy to keep up with it and didn't go for weigh-ins and I can tell. You just don't have that hanging over your shoulders so you don't care as much. At least that is what I felt like! But I have also been doing the program for a year and a half.

Good luck!

i've lost around 20 lbs since new year's by following online. it's really a lifestyle change more than a diet, so once you get the hang of it, you pretty much follow it. the website keeps you accountable by having you keep a food diary, enter weekly weights, etc. give it a try! they have great recipes on that site...

I definately agree with the accountability being a key factor. I have been on ww since july and have stopped going to meetings since jan and have been playing with the same 5 pounds! Hmm maybe i should go back to the meetings :)

there is something about having to face that woman every week that makes you stay motivated - I have to go to the meetings.

Re: Weight Watcher Girls??

I just reread your question and realized you were asking about joining online... I joined WW mtgs in Feb... I'm down 10lbs!!! And that is just strickly watching what I eat.. I don't know if online would work the same to me. what I do is just go to a mtg once a month to weigh in, but I watch what I eat every day. I really don't have the extra $$ to spend on mtgs every week... if I find myself slacking I'll go to an extra mtg, but so far I've been pretty good... now it's just a matter of getting my butt motivated to exercise. I lost the 10lbs without going to the gym so I'm sure I'll do even better and start toning it all up if I work out!

Re: Weight Watcher Girls??

I would think as long as you're motivated enough to do it on your own you should be fine. I don't have the time to go to meetings, what I do have is a great support system with my playdate Mom's (3 of them). They have all done WW before so they have been passing on their points knowledge and helpful tips. I did come across this awesome site, it's a message board also, that has a sh!t load of info, good tips, yummy recipes and a ton of support , it's healthdiscovery.net. HTH.

ps.- if you recall I posted today about my 4 pound weight loss, it's been pretty easy and I feel great, no meetings just friendly support Goodluck
