There is a set of books, also maybe one meeting to get you motivated is a good idea....I think I'm ginna start with a meeting for that reason and then just try to keep on..

I;ve heard it works for a lot of people..i'll follow the points system, but i feel its a waste to pay for meetings/...i dont have to pay someone else to let me know that i've lost weight..

Re: weight watchers

I belong to WW online, since I hate going to meetings. I dont need to lose tons of weight and sometimes they look at you a little weird if you tell them you need to lose weight!

I have been on WW since January 2nd and am down almost 10lbs. Again, the weight is coming off slow because I dont have much to lose.

I Love WW. It has taught me what a normal portion size in, it forces me to eat fresh fruit and veggies as well as eat yogurt, drink milk, etc.

Like they say . . . 'WW is not a diet, it's a lifestyle'

i've lost 40 pounds with weight watchers and I swear by it!

(of course now I'm trying to get off the last 10 and it's so slow it's torture!)

But definitely give it a shot. FH did it with me and lost 85 pounds!

Re: weight watchers

I lost 31 pounds in the summer of '05 with WW. It was SUPER easy to do and to understand.

......Of course I have since gained all but 5 pounds back but I started going again last Thursday, my first-but-not-really-first weigh in is on Thursday (crossing my fingers!!!)

I highly reccomend it.

So wait...I'm confused. If I do it online....what do I pay? And what am I paying for?? The access to their point charts?

Couldn't I just download it and save some $$??

I'm confuzzled!

Re: weight watchers

By joining online you pay a reduced monthly fee and that gives you access to daily point trackers, and all the other stuff that's available on their website (chat boards, recipes, etc)

I found it helpful when I used it, but once I got the hang of things I didn't renew when mine expired.

I love WW!!!! I lost 18lbs last summer. I gianed a few back but now I am going to start again. My mom lost over 40lbs. It's great!! And you can still eat what you want. It's just portion control!!!!

I would say it depends on what kind of dieter you are. If you need that accountability factor to keep your discipline, maybe you are better off at the meetings. That's the only thing with the online version. You weigh yourself and record the weight each week online. How successful you will be with it depends in part on how honest you will be with it.

Also, if you do the online, be sure and check out the forums. There are lots of good tips that you would normally hear it you went to in person meetings.

Good Luck!

They say you lose 3X as much if you go to meetings...but I am too lazy.

And since I'm on the computer ALL THE TIME ( ) I think I'll get more use out of the on-line subscription.

Re: weight watchers

I think it is best to just go there at first and get the materials and then continue on your own, but go to a meeting at least once a month for some motivation and progress reports.

So what are you guys eating anyone have any good recipes to share?
