When I did it, I had the iPhone app to help me keep track of my points. You get a certain number of points each day plus additional points to use over the rest of the week (so it works out to 7 additional points per day). And you can look up your meals and figure out how many points they are. If you stay within your allotted points, you'll see results.
I used to save up all my additional points for the weekend so I could go all out!

I was on WW last year and lost like 45lbs. Its super easy. Theres nothing you cant eat. Its all in proportion. When you join they give you the start up packet and if you have an IPhone theres tons of apps to help you keep track. I prefer iWatchr. Its super easy. They will tell you how many points your allowed per day/week and each food is listed in the book. You just keep track either in your book, calculator, or app and it all falls into place. As long as you follow it and stick to it theres no way you can not lose weight. I tried SO many other diets and nothing worked. Good luck with it!

They also make frozen dinners that tell you how many points they're worth. They're basically smaller portions of the foods you might normally eat, which is what WW is really about anyway.

Im back on my fitnesspal - lets you calculate how many calories youve eaten that day, shows how much you have left and you can also keep track of your exercise. When I am strict with it, it works bc it will sometimes make me think whether or not I want to write something down before eating it.

In my opinion, the meetings are essential. I think you have to be really really disciplined to do it on your own, and I just don't have that in me! Also, I feel like if you can do it on your own, you might as well save the money and do my fitness pal or something similar. The meetings hold you accountable and make your weight loss a bigger, more prominent part of your life (fitting it in your schedule, talking with other people doing the same thing, etc.)

Yeah, I never did the meetings but if I do decide to go back on WW, I think I'm going to go to them because that's a lot more motivating than just relying on my own motivation.

Agreed! If I don't go to a meeting, I slack that week. When I know I'm going to be weighing in the next morning I do extra good! Good Luck!

I lost 80 lbs on WW and it was seriously the best thing I've ever done for myself diet wise. Follow the program and you WILL lose weight. It's easy to follow and you don't feel like you're restricted. Good luck!

I never acutally joined- I kinda piggy backed off my friend who was an actual WW member. That being said, I only attended 1 meeting, and that was AFTER I lost all my weight. Like some of the other girls said tho, you need to be very disiplined to do it without the meetings. I know my friend relied on the meetings to keep her on track.

I joined WW Online one year ago. I lost 43 pounds so far. You must measure everything and log your food every day. I love it!

Re: weight watchers!
I have been on WW for about a year now. I lost 48 lbs but then got engaged in November, went on vacation in December for 2 weeks and then the Holidays. I think I gained about 10 lbs back. Need to get back to it next week. I think the meetings are helpful but the weekly weigh-in is essential for me. I feel accountable to someone. Good Luck : )

Re: weight watchers!
I did weight watchers last year and lost 25 lbs and I thought it was EASY! And I am someone who LOVES to eat and drink!!
You really just learn to have smaller portions and to eat a lot of fruits ad veggies. The 'allowance points' are extra that basically let you have a little extra each day, or you can save them and use a bunch at a time. It teaches you to treat yourself with out over doing it.
The meetings really helped me because I am not disciplined enough to do it without going there and being held accountable for my week. They don't make you announce your weigh ins or anything but for me it just worked because I felt more motivated not to walk in there and weigh in and sit through the meeting all disappointed in myself. I definitely recommend it!
It really helped to have a meeting leader that you like too. If you don't like the meetings after a few weeks consider switching to a new leader. If you live in Suffolk I can recommend a few.
I'm actually going back to meetings starting next week to really buckle down and be in good shape for the wedding!

I rejoined on Friday after I saw that I gained 5 lbs over the holidays!!!! I lost about 25lbs 2 years ago on it and I really like the program. Not to sound cheesy but it really becomes a way of life. Even when I'm not on it officially in my head I'm always like oh no can't eat that I know it's like 9 points. I highly recommend it.

I started WW on the 1st and have lost 5 pounds. I don't attend meetings but did a lot of research online and found great WW recipes and have counted everything in my house. I feel that it really has taught me about portions and I don't feel deprived. It is all moderation! FH & I didn't want a diet but a lifestyle change.
