Weight Watchers girls - what 'staples' do you keep stocked in your kitchen?
I don't right now (bad me) but I want to stock up on:Wheat free/low sodium soy sauce (get at health food stores) and teriaki sauce
canned tomatos (crushed, diced, whole, pureed, etc)
corn starch
flour
balsamic vinegar
white vinegar
cinnamon (power and sticks)
spices
sugar free hot cocoa
low sodium chicken/beef/vegetable broth
White wine for cooking
Powered coffee
Sweet n low (but when I run out of that I'll buy Splenda)
and I buy bottled sauces for times I don't feel like being creative with chicken or fish.
Anything else??????

Re: Weight Watchers girls - what 'staples' do you keep stocked in your kitchen?
Well, I do not have much time to cook during the week, so I don't have 'cooking' items. But I do keep certain things in stock at all times:Columbo Light Yogurt
Low Fat granola bars
lettuce
Fat Free dressings
Light Rye Wasa bread (4 for one point)
Turkey cold cuts
cups of Dole fruit in it's own juices
Bananas
Puffed wheat cereal
WW ice cream cones.
This is the core of my diet at the moment. If I think about it some more, I'll add

Rachel - I bought the Wasa light rye crispbread too - it's not too badHappybride - I also have the WW shakes. I don't like them with water though, just milk.
I use Skim Plus milk.
I also try to keep eggs handy although most of the time I have to throw them out for being expired since I don't always eat them in time!
I'm going to have to start getting up earlier and making my own b-fast so that I don't waste food in the house!

I bring cereal for breakfast or I'll make egg salad. Once in a while, I'll eat a muffin.

If I don't bring my own food in I go to the cafeteria and that's my downfall.I think I'll start doing a small scrambled egg and turkey sausage on whole wheat before I leave the house.

I don't do weight watchers....but I do watch what I eat.
I can't really keep 'healthy' treats on hand like pretzels, lower fat ice cream,,,because I tend to still eat too much.
I do keep at all times in house:
popcorn (you can eat so much and still not be high in cals)
veggies (frozen any-type, canned mushroom, corn, peas, bean) (to throw into any meal to fill up on)
Frozen plain chicken tenders from BJs. (They are virtually fat free, can cook frozen and great for late meals, since they are so quick to cook.)
Fat free american cheese (snack on & breakfast for egg whites
Eggs
healthy cereal (with a banana and I am set for the morning)
OK.....Coffee (flavored french vanilla creamer too)
Bottle of diet soda (I mostly drink water, but ocassionally crave soda with a meal)
Feta cheese, spanish olives, bacos to throw into a salad and then skip the dressing.
Balsamic vinegar (salads)
hot sauce (to cook chicken with and for breakfast egg whites)
I have tons of seasonings to add flavor to meals
Hot sauce! Excellent idea. Thanks!

Re: Weight Watchers girls - what 'staples' do you keep stocked in your kitchen?
I would have to say spray butter/Pam. It is mandatory in my house! I never realized, being Italian, how many things we cooked with oil or butter and now we use spray butter instead! Also, excellent WW ideas:
JELLO Fat Free puddings (2 pts)
English muffins (2 pts)
Kellogg's nutrigrain or specil K waffles (1 pt each)
grapes (1 pt per cup)
shredded part skim mozzarella (great for a quick english muffin pizza dinner!)
egg whites (4 whites=1 pt)
RICE KRISPIES TREATS (2 pts each)
Smart ones or lean cuisines for lunch
light mayo and tuna in water
now I am hungry!
Good luck!

Re: Weight Watchers girls - what 'staples' do you keep stocked in your kitchen?
We bought the thing you can pour olive oil in and you pump air into the bottle with the top of the bottle and it becomes a spray can. DH doens't like Pam and I didn't like him putting so much oil in the pan.Welcome New Vendors
