Weight Watchers Ladies

Weight Watchers Ladies

OK, so I know they say you should have a game plan for the big eating events, which of course for many of us this week will be. So I thought it would be helpful if we just reminded ourselves what our goals/plans are for the week, so that we can hold each other accountable.

My goal is not to gain. I gained last week (lots of Christmas parties and my birthday), but I'd really like to not gain for next week.

That being said, my plan is to only indulge in things that are special and Christmas related--I'm going to have candy canes and my Grandma's turkey and ham, but NOT cheese and crackers before dinner. That way I don't feel like I'm depriving myself of the food I love, but I AM still watching. I'm also going to try to be super good on non-holiday things like today's lunch for example!

Any thoughts from you ladies? Tips from you lifetime-ers who have dealt with the holidays before?

Sorry if this is off topic or weird, I just feel like it will definitely help me to put this in public and in writing to hole myself accountable

I think it's perfectly reasonable and smart to keep your goal for the week as to simply not gain!

As for the pre-dinner snacking, how about offering to bring a tray of cut-up veggies and some lowfat dip for them? You can make a quick lowfat spinach dip in no time, and that will help you feel satisfied - and less likely to go for the cheese and crackers. Bonus: you can get in a decent amount of veggies that way, which fulfills part of the WW guidelines.

Make sure your dinner plate is full of colorful stuff. Too much beige and whites on there = carbs/fat. Some of that is good - you don't want to deprive - but the more colorful it is, the more veggies you have on there.

Dessert for me is a time to indulge. I don't feel guilty about it; I just have a reasonable serving and remind myself 'hey, it's Christmas!'

My goal.......in ALL honesty......is to enjoy myself during the holidays and get RIGHT BACK ON TRACK starting January 4th!

I've done WW for almost 4 years now, so I know that this is how I handle my holidays. I try to be more aware during the other days, and indulge on Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year's Eve, and New Year's day. I'll also try to exercise as much as possible. I have all next week off, so I have no excuse not to go to the gym.

I say January 4th is my refresh point, because I'm attending a post-holiday get together on Jan 3 and I KNOW I won't be paying too much attention.

So treat the other days like normal days, and only the actual holidays as special. And exercise. That's my plan.

Oh and one more thing:

GO TO MEETINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm still working meetings during the holidays, and I'll be sure to be sitting in those seats the day after Christmas and the day after New Year's.

Those meetings are CRUCIAL!!!!!!!

I'm with Laura- my goal is just to enjoy myself!!!! I never count points or even pay attention to what I'm eating on holidays. Its a special time that shouldn't be ruined with point counting and worrying about weight gain. In the past 2 years since I've been doing WW I've had quite a few holidays and no major weight gain...Like Laura said though- get back on track immediatly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Xmas and xmas eve are TWO DAYS! So I cheat for TWO DAYS! Dec 26th is not a holiday! I dont eat leftovers. I get right back to the gym!
