hey ladies..my question about weight watchers is do you think going to the meetings actually helps?
i did weight watchers a few years ago and lost weight...but i didnt pay/go to meetings. My friends mom went so we basically used all the info she got and just followed the plan ourselfs.
this time around i have been following the plan and have lost around 7 lbs....but its been awhile so i feel like i should have lost more..
i am thinking that maybe going to the meetings would help motivate me and stuff...what do you all think???? also, how often do you go to meetings/what exactly do you do there???
TIA

Re: Weight Watchers Spinoff ---Meetings?
When I was trying to lose weight, the meetings did help. One of the biggest helps was that alot of people had some great food ideas that were low points that I would have never thought of on my own.

Meetings are great, the support is wonderful and you get such great ideas from others

Re: Weight Watchers Spinoff ---Meetings?
i never liked them. i never knew anyone. They were always way older than me and made jokes that i didn't even get and must have been funny in the 50s and I didn't want people clapping for me when I lost weight.
so no. meetings didn't help me

I've only used WW online and never been to a meeting. I'm sure it is great motivation though. It really depends on your comfort level

I tried is on my own a few times and was usually pretty successful for about 2 months. But I think knowing I will get weighed every week really keeps me in check. It really makes a difference when people clap when they find out you've lost weight, and to hear someone else say 'you've lost 2 lbs' instead of just getting on your scale by yourself.

Re: Weight Watchers Spinoff ---Meetings?
I lost 46 pounds with the WW meetings and I've kept it off for 2 years now. I'm also a leader now. The meetings were really important for me. I needed the support of people that were going through the exact same thing. I still need the support and even though I'm a leader, I still go to meetings as a member every week.

i find that the meetings help. they do give you good ideas. it also keeps me in check knowing that i have to get weighed....otherwise, i would probably just give up. it might help if you can convince someone to go with you. that's what i did.

I also like when everyone claps for me. I love a room of people applauding my success.
