Okay, so i'm only a little over 8 weeks but I feel like my belly has a pooch already! My jeans are all snug so I have been living in sweats. When I went to the doc yesterday I only gained 1/2 pound. Did anyone else outgrow their pants so early on?!?!

Re: Weight/Belly Question
unfortunately, yes! I didn't gain too many pounds, but those I did gain were right in my belly....I was out of all of my pants by 10 weeks....
I'm now in that PITA in-between stage - too small for maternity but too big for regular clothes!
I bought a few pairs of dress pants from NY & Co. with an elastic waistband to do the trick for now

Re: Weight/Belly Question
I was in maternity pants by 8 or 9 weeks. I just couldn't get comforable in my regular clothes. I am almost 23 weeks now, and I still don't have a big belly, but need the elastic waistbands. Sweats rule!!

Re: Weight/Belly Question
I am 11 weeks and I don't feel comfortable in my regular clothes. I feel so blah. I don't look pregnant yet, I just look like I am getting chubby. I did buy some maternity jeans and a pair of black pants at motherhood and they feel a lot better. I need to buy more this weekend. They aren't the pouch style. They have the thick elastic band around the waist. VERY COMFY!!

I guess i'll have to buy some transition clothes. I actually just went to go put on one of my baby tee shirts and it is sitting above my belly already Yikes!

Re: Weight/Belly Question
I was in maternity jeans by 10 weeks. I wear my clothes tight so there was absolutely no room for growth. I bought a few pairs of jeans in larger sizes and then some demi panel jeans. I'm just now at 5 1/2 months starting to outgrow the demi panels in a small and I probably can get another months wear out of the M, so I think they were totally worth the money. I also bought alot of spandex type maternity shirts which I'm also now just starting to outgrow into the next size up.
I'm making the transition now into full panel and estended panel, which is ugly as all hell, but so damn comfy
Buy clothes that your comfortable in. Trying to squeeze into pants that are too tight will just make you feel like cr@p and having jeans that fit do wonders for your image.
edited to add that gap and old navy have some really cute shirts out for the spring. H&M is also good as is Motherhood Maternity. I bought designer maternity jeans (like Seven and Blue Cult) off ebay.

One piece of advice that I didn't listen to when I was in my early pregnancy...when they say to buy your pre-pregnancy size, don't always! I have already had to go up a size and not because I have gained weight much other than in my belly...but because my belly is so big that all of the pants/shirts were either too tight or too short. I just had to buy a whole new set of clothes because of this. I am actually really scared because as of now, I really only have a limited selection of shirts that will fit for the next ~9 wks. Just when you think that you can't possibly get any bigger, you do.

Early on in the pregnancy, I would get very bloated. Its very common.

very true! In some stores, I'm up a size already - in others, I'm the same. It's all trial and error til you find something that fits!

Re: Weight/Belly Question
At 10 wks, my regular jeans were the first to be packed up. I hadn't gained any weight, but my waist was completely gone. Amazing how your body just changes overnight. So I bought 1 pair of gap maternity jeans that have knit side panels.
I've been able to wear all my other regular clothes up until about a week ago (23wks).
