Weight/fitting

Is it not a good idea to plan on losing weight after your first fitting. i mean about 5lbs and toning up?

I was told to stop losing weight after my first fitting but I dont see how losing a little more can hurt... that's what a SECOND fitting is for!!

i agree with carolinep24... while it may be OPTIMAL to stay the same as you are for the first fitting, it is most important to be happy with the way you look... and if the seamstress has to give another fitting, so be it -- thats what youre paying for!!!!

Re: Weight/fitting

I had my third and final fitting this afternoon because I keep losing and was told that I CANNOT lose any more weight,,,I can already feel that it isnt as tight on top and I dont feel like pulling my dress up all night! I can't help it though,,,when its hot outside I just cant eat!!! So I would say to not lose anymore after the second as long as you have enough time for a third fitting. My mom took me straight to the diner after my fitting today,,and told me that she's going to shove ice cream down my throat every night for the next week!!!

Good Luck!!!

Ooo yeah, i heard that tip. have some icecream everynight from the last fitting til the wedding to maintain your weight and compensate for the weight typically lost in that last week... great point!!!!

Re: Weight/fitting

You should really try to maintain your weight after the first fitting. You really want as little altering done to the dress as possible because the more altering done the greater potential for the integrity of the dress material to be damaged.

Re: Weight/fitting

it all depends on the timeframe and on your seamstress.

I lost 5 lbs within two weeks and the seamstress was able to take in my dress within a few days for me.

that won't be a problem...that is why you have multiple fittings. Just make sure you have enough time.

I've lost a few pounds since my first fitting.....it shouldn't be a problem though. That's what second and final fitting are for!

I think 5 lbs shouldn't make too much of a difference in how your dress fits anyway. I feel like I gain/lose 5 lbs in a day!

Re: Weight/fitting

I went to my suppose to be final fitting yesterday- since I got the dress I lost about 10 lbs, they took it in so much at first that it didnt matter. Yesterday they just have to take in the chest area- of course! but they will fix it so dont worry u have time! you will prob just lose weight in the last few weeks b4. I did not belive that but in the last week I lost 5 pounds. good luck
