Weird (maybe TMI) Question about Unwanted Hair

Weird (maybe TMI) Question about Unwanted Hair

What is everyone doing for their armpit and lip hair wedding wise?

The reason I ask is because when I shave my armpit, I can still see somewhat of the hair color left (maybe I'm not a good shaver). And when I wax my lip, it usually breaks out with bumps.

I don't want to look like crazy, unshaven, bumpy bride....

well i wax my lip and i dont get bumps so with me thats fine. Armpits i shave but i dont have a problem with anything showing right after, i will definitely shave the morning of.

Don't use wax! That's why your breaking out...get it strung...any nail salon/hair salon offers that instead of wax. It hurts a little more, but worth it.

I recently got my armpits waxed b/c I was thinking about possibly doing that for the wedding. It didn't hurt when it was getting done, but my pits were sore for like 2 days after. I didn't get any breakouts, but it didn't really give great results either.
As for my lip, I break out if I get waxed in a salon, but when I do it at home, I never have any problems. I just use Sally Hanson face wax. It's so easy, and much cheaper than getting it done all the time.

I have the same problem with the ole pits - but eh, what are you going to do.

I have a different problem from the lip hair (more TMI coming your way).

I have a 'beard'. Or a 'chin strap' as FH likes to call it. On either side of my chin. I tweeze, I shave, I've even tried 'Veeting' it but by the end of the day - yup! You guessed it - I have a five o'clock shadow. It grows that fast! So, by the end of my wedding, as I'm kissing people goodbye, I'll be nice and scruffy

Honestly, I left the hair under my arms alone for like 3 days because they always shave better when the hair is longer. And my upper lip I used one of those little blade shaver things they have at cosmetic stores. I know its bad to shave but I forgot to wax! It worked like a charm though. And could be god for you since youre sensitive to wax. How about threading your upper lip? Itll hurt like a biatch but might work.

maybe use a different razor. You can also wax but when you first wax an area that has never been waxed you are more likely for it to get sensitive and get red and bumps so dont do it right before give it a few days or so. Also keep in mind that when you wax, the hair grows back in less and the roots get softer, when you shave the hair gets thicker and grows back alot so to go from shaving an area you have shaved for a long time and then waxing, it will hurt a little bit more but beauty is pain so sometimes we just have to deal

its too bad many places dont do this european wax that you put on when its hot and you let it sit a bit until it cools down and then you just peel it off and comes all off. Its also a bit thicker, but whenever i used that wax I LOVED it

i wouldnt worry too much about the underarm hair shadow - most of your photos your arms will be down and if anything your photographer can airbrush - i dont think your guests will notice - just shave them last thats what im going to do hahahaha

maybe try threading for the lip?

this is going to sound disgusting but there is a reason why you break out in a salon. The problem is that many times they dont use a new stick, they just used it on somebody previously and then you put it back into the wax and the cycle goes on. Also depends ALOT on what they put on you afterwards. Ive seen some salons put this oily thing on and really dont think it works. I use a gel that is specifically for this and not to get bumps.

Yahh I know so many places are not sanitary it grosses me out, that's why I do it all at home now. I got a staph infection from getting a manicure last year, so I've been kinda freaked about going to salons since then.

it only really HURTS the first time. After that, it's only slightly uncomfortable and only on a couple of parts to the leg. The more you do it, the faster it goes and the less painful it is.

I'm just going to shave my legs. Luckily for me my leg hair is fine and blonde and grows in realllly slow. I can go almost a week with nothing! If you are planning on waxing, get it done way before as a test to make sure you don't have any bad reactions.

its funny bc as a teenager i didnt start off with shaving, i started with waxing and thats all i did for years. Unfortunately in the summers its a bit hard bc you have to let the hair grow in a little before waxing it, so unfortunately i do shave now. But it will hurt a little only bc of what i said above that if you have been shaving an area for a while and then start waxing it the hair follicles are thicker now. But its pain that you can resist. Take 2 adviles 30 mins before and it does help alot

my mom has owned salons for years and is in the business so luckily i get all this done at home. My eyebrows and all waxing, manicures, pedicures and all that. Yeah some places are disgusting. For MANY years now, and this is actually what the rules have been for a LOOOONG time but many salons still dont do it but my mom has all the utensils for everybody separately. They put them in a ziploc bag with the persons name and then have to get new ones every so often and this way you are not using the same nail clipper for example on everybody only that one person is using that specific one. Many places in the city do this also but maybe bc they also get checked more, my mom only has worked in the city and they do have ppl randomly come in and check up. But i know for a fact that everybody should not be using the same stuff, everybody has to have their own
