So I still put a place card out for them right...which means I'm paying for their plate anyway. Even if you were on some diet or had some dietary restrictions I don't think I'd annouce it on the response card. I don't know..thats just me.

They meant that they find the sight of food laying out for all to see to be very offensive. They are requesting that no food be served to avoid this embarassing faux pas.
Maybe they won't be eating? Like they have dietary restrictions or something?

Maybe they do...but then the whole night as terrible as this sounds i'm going to be thinking 'do you know how much that empty plate cost me'

i would think so.......arent we paying for the food not the chair??? plus when they take the order they will know someone said NO to a meal........id call and see what they say.....it wouldnt hurt
