Weirdos at Work-share your stories!

Weirdos at Work-share your stories!

I just wanted to post a few little things about some of my coworkers. They are so, so odd and sometimes I feel like i am in the twilight zone here.

I work at a TV station so maybe its expected.

But...we have one guy (27 years old) who dressed up as the easter bunny last week, hopped around and gave out eggs to everyone (the plastic ones) and inside was like a toy dreidle or an eye patch (random and weird). Afterwards he sent an email asking for the shells back so he can save them for next year!!??

THEN. My other coworker is someone i've referred to in the past as a food snatcher. But she not only steals food, she just has no couth. No concept of what socially accpetable behavior is like. Its so odd. She will open my bag and dig through it, until I turn around and tell her to stop. She will say she needs my door key. WHY ARE YOU TOUCHING MY THINGS??? I just feel like screaming here.

Please tell me other people have weirdo coworkers!!! I'd love to hear the stories!

I used to work with a woman who used to save packets of cream cheese and jelly that were left over after meetings. She never ate them, but always had tons in her desk. She'd also wrap up leftover sandwiches in paper towels, leave them on her desk for a few days and then throw it out. It was quite disgusting actually!

Apparently not because this was going on before I worked there (I heard from other coworkers)! Lucky me, my desk was right next to hers!

Well I have one guy who constantly stands up (since he is tall enough)--and talks to the lady on the other side....he's always peeping over and that irritates the s**T out of me b/c he's always in my peripheral vision.

And then there is another guy who is always standing in his cube. I dont know if its a claustrophobic thing, but he always likes to stand up every now and then and look around--I guess thats the benefits of being tall.

There's one guy who constantly looks at porn all day (also married w/ 3 kids)

Hmm...Lets see, thats all I can think of for now.

Re: Weirdos at Work-share your stories!

When I started at my job six years ago, I was replacing a guy who had just left. I heard he was a real character. For example, he'd walk by my boss's office and *salute* my boss every morning when he arrived and every evening when he left.

Also, I saw the cubicle he used to occupy (thank God they gave me a different one). He 'collected' empty soda cans and stacked them up along all the cubicle walls. There were literally hundreds.

When another new guy came and occupied WeirdGuy's old cubicle, we started going through his desk. It was FULL of little scraps of paper detailing when he did things:

'9:05-- cleaned glasses'
'10:14-- got phone call'
'12:55-- ate lunch'

We also found not one, not two, but THREE glasses-repair kits, and about forty expired Blimpie coupons. Weeeeeeird.

Another weird person I used to work with:

About five years ago, there was this guy in the department who was a 'problem employee', to say the least. We are an IT department, so you need to deal with the users sometimes. He'd literally scream and swear at them on the phone! He was given a warning about this.

Then he'd constantly close the door to his office and smoke. After a while his boss threatened to take away his office and put him in a cubicle if he kept smoking. So the guy gets mad, comes in the next day with SPRAY PAINT, and graffiti-ed the walls of his office! Needless to say he was fired that day.

I wonder if the company charged him for the damage he did to the walls though?

There is a guy at my job that probably doesn't shower and looks greasy. He is always in the break room eating some sort of grass-like stuff, (sprouts maybe, but it looks like grass) out of a plastic container w/ his hands! He offers me some when I see him. No thanks mister!

We always have snacks and stuff out on one of the filing cabinets...well one day I bring in a bag of pretzels. The first person to stick his hand in is one of the loan offiers here and then he tells us he has poison ivy on his hands...EWWWW...needless to say we just gave him the bag of pretzels.

One more for everyone..

a coworker of mine emails me pictures of his cats..their names are ko and kong. He worships these cats. Nothing wrong with loving your pet...but...he is also 33, lives with mama, and one time told me he longed to yank on my pony tail like a young boy. I almost went to HR!!

(FH did NOT like that story)

The girl I used to work with was always paranoid people were talking to her, and woud confront me ALL THE TIME at home at work, etc. Even when I was at work and she was home she would call me! Also, I work for a doctor and we have some strange ones, one guy tells me he loves me all the time, he is so gross and I am so grossed out about it, my boss has to stay at the front desk with me until he leaves! I get chills thinking of this. The man is so dirty and yucky..........

Re: Weirdos at Work-share your stories!

LONG, SORRY.

When I was in high school, I worked for a limo company. I sat in a basement office with no windows, but I did have a big screen tv. By office, I mean 1970s red shag carpet, mirrored ceiling, and wood paneling. The owner of the company was my parents' friend from high school, and he needed some cheap help. (I wasn't cheap - he paid me $8/hr, cash off the books!)
This guy is LITERALLY 450 lbs. He lives at home with his momma because his marriage failed because he is fat, lazy, and smelly. Part of my job description was a wake up call: He gets up everyday at 11, just in time for Jerry Springer. He'll stay in bed until 2 watching daytime soaps, then get in his car (which is littered with old McDonald's bags and food scraps) and drive to the office. Once he arrives at the office, he sits on his loveseat (it's an armchair for him), and eats lunch #1: turkey and american on a hero, an entire party sized bag of ruffles (the $4.29 size) and 2 'diet' snapples. He lost the remote for the tv, and he's too lazy to get up and change the channels, so he taped 3 sticks (yes, STICKS, from TREES) together with duct tape to poke the tv with. The only time the poker gets used is when he needs to switch from soaps to judge judy, OR when he needs to turn the DVD player on so he can watch his 'girls gone wild' DVDs. He owns the ENTIRE COLLECTION.

Let's not even discuss the bathroom - I 'held it' for 6 hours daily every summer.

One day, he sent me across the street to buy him pizza. (He gave me a $20 and said 'get me a sicilian' - he meant a PIE not a slice.) The man eats a PIZZA EVERY DAY as lunch #2. After sitting on his loveseat/armchair for a couple hours, he gets in his car and drives home again, stopping at McDonald's, Burger King, or Wendy's for Dinner #1. When he gets home, he eats dinner #2, that his mommy's prepared for him.

He spends his after-dinner hours searching the internet for porn shots of women that resemble a high school gf of his. He prints them out, and hangs them in the office, above the tv. (he has a wall and a half full right now.)

I know this man's entire life because I WAS his life. When he wasn't in the office, he would call 10 times. When he WAS in the office, he made sure I was sitting within his line of vision.

I worked this job for 3 summers because the money was GREAT, so much better than I could make at the grocery store! AND because it taught me how to ignore people.

One day, shortly after my 18th birthday, I couldn't believe what he did and I finally quit. I was upstairs in our building checking the mail, and he WENT THROUGH MY PURSE!!! He found a Victoria's secret receipt that said 'low-rise thong' (gotta love that 5 for $20 deal!) and when I came back down with the mail, I caught him with the reciept in one hand, and the other hand was DOWN HIS PANTS, doing YOU KNOW WHAT. I got my stuff (NOT that receipt) and left immediately - and I took the cash I was owed for the day out of the drawer so I'd never have a reason to contact him again.

Now if this isn't the most REPULSIVE BOSS, I don't know what to do...

On a side note: This limo company does not do weddings. He only has 5 cars and does airport trips. Don't worry ladies! (and gents)
