Welcome Bags

Welcome bags/gifts...any one doing them? Are they necessary? Many guests have already told me they are staying at the hotel through our block. They're all local and plan on staying so that don't have to drive home after drinking. I'm not sure what the protocol here is...

Welcome Bags

We're not doing them. It just another expense that we decided to cut out, having gone over budget on half our vendors lol

Welcome Bags

We are doing them. Got bags online. Putting in small bags of chips, 2 mini champagnes, 2 mini waters, 2 beer koozies, postcard and personalized pens. His whole side is OOT so I really wanted to do it for them.

I made them. I put in two bottles of water, a bag of chips, a bag of nuts, some gum, some fruit snacks and a shuttle schedule.

Welcome Bags

I don't think they are necessary! Never really used them either as an OOT guest either.

Re: Welcome Bags

We had a very small overnight guest turn out because mostly everyone was in driving distance. So I found a super affordable site called beforetheidos.com. After shipping, 10 bags cost only $15. It's not necessary but it's something we wanted to do. I thought after a long wedding day, a little treat in the room would be nice.

Welcome Bags

I'm doing them because we have a lot of out of town guests...going to do water, snacks, and maybe mini liquor bottles or something for later on because the hotel bar closes early...i'll see how much $ i have to spare though when the time comes!

My hotel is charging the same. The guests who are staying overnight are local and just crashing there so they can drink and don't have to drive home. That's why I wasn't sure if bags were necessary...our reception ends at 11:30pm and we're doing brunch the next day for those who stayed at the hotel. Not sure when they'd even have time to enjoy what's in a welcome bag. I also don't want tot look cheap, that's why I put this question out there.

Welcome Bags

We did a 'brunch in a box' .. Filled a box full of cereal, coffee cakes, granola bars, water and Gatorade. We didn't have many guests who stayed over but the ones that did loved it!
